I hope you all had a blessed Easter!  My family and I went north to Canada for Easter Weekend.  This is pretty much how it went.

– Meet with relatives and eat

– Attend church

When we moved to SD 11 years ago we were suddenly faced with the task of coming up with family traditions of our own. No longer could we depend upon the extended family traditions that we did at holidays, it was just the three of us now, and we had to compensate!
Over the years we’ve kept some of the old traditions, made up some new tradtions, and have melded the two together creating ‘updated tradtions’ for our family.
So what exactly are ‘updated traditions’ you ask? Well things like:

Ha Ha, I know I post an Easter post and now I have a New Year’s Post up!! I’m a little backwards today!

2010 was a pretty awesome year for me, and I made some New Year’s resolutions for 2011, and now that it’s a quarter way through the year let’s see how I’m doing shall we?

I shared previously on my Hoppy Mother’s Day Event post about what Easter really means to me.  But I have the opportunity now to write a blog post for Social Moms about my favorite thing about Easter, so I’ll mention it again .

Easter really is what solidifies my faith.  Christmas and Easter go hand in hand.  Without God sending His Son to be a child born on this Earth, the sacrifice for sin could never have been made.

Easter is arriving very late this year.  April 24th on the calendar which puts it just 2 weeks before Mother’s Day.  So rather than highlighting products separately I decided to host a Hoppy Mother’s Day event here on Three Different Directions and my entertainment blog Play That Now, and combine the two together. 

I am pretty much inept at growing things.  No matter what I’ve tried to grow in the past, if you saw it, you’d think a drought passed through.  It’s a power struggle between me and the soil, and the dirt always wins.  Of course, my husband can grow nearly anything, which is pretty much the only reason we don’t have Fake plants in our home.

I can’t even keep cut flowers alive, so it makes me wince when someone gifts me with them.

Have you ever wished you could just while away a day at the edge of the ocean, just relaxing with a cool breeze bringing in the scent of the sea?

The other day I was sitting in my living room, with a Shoreline scented candle burning, while I was surfing the web on a site with a Bamboo rug.  Just then something triggered my memory.  Smells and photos

I drive a 12 ½ year old Honda CR-V, which we affectionately call Plucky 2 (our first car was a Honda Civic, which we dubbed ‘Plucky’).  Plucky 2 has served us so well over the years.  We bought her when we needed a second vehicle because my husband could no longer take the bus to work (the commute was just too long).

It’s hard to believe that I’ve had Plucky 2 that long.  She still runs fantastic and only has a teeny tiny spot of rust here and there.  Alas I know she will not last forever, and we will need to get a new vehicle in the next few years to replace her.

How long does it take to read a word?  Probably less than a second for those of us fluent in the language it’s written in, but for this measurement let’s just assume it’s about a second.

So with that figure, I proudly announce my 12 seconds of fame as a blogger featured in a national publication; ‘Woman’s World’.  For those of you unfamiliar with Woman’s World it’s a weekly publication with a readership of over 7 million!!  (Okay enough of the blatant bragging…)
