In case you haven’t figured it out by now, my family is a bunch of geeks, LOL! Most of our family time is spent with those ‘stylish’ 3D glasses perched on our noses, with some sort of technology or playing video games.

Oh yeah video games and our family go waaaaay back, I mean to the era of Pong (my husband is almost 50!) and Commodore 64s, you know back in 1982 when 8-bit was all the rage. Oh wait, I bet some of you weren’t even born yet (now I’m feeling old…)

This is the time of year that hovers between the last days of “summer like” weather and the cool crispness of autumn.  Where even up north, it’s still warm enough for shorts and flip-flops during the day, but come evening you’re reaching for the sweatshirt or slippers.

My beverage choices are as conflicted as the weather on days like that!  I want something cold and refreshing to quench my thirst in the morning or early afternoon, and something that will warm me up while we sit wrapped in blankets in front of the TV at night.

A lot of my dear bloggy friends have a deep heart for animals. Many of them foster kittens, some of them have taken in dogs from kill shelters and some volunteer their time promoting their 4-legged friends to gain a home.

While I don’t talk about animals much on my blog, Knowing that there are many more of you out there who care about them,  I wanted to make you aware of a charitable cause that works towards helping dogs have better lives.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know that I’m all about easy. Cutting corners when preparing meals is right up my alley — it doesn’t mean that I don’t make anything from scratch, it just means that for me sometimes packaged items trump spending extra time in the kitchen. With our home up for sale, lately unless I throw something in the crockpot first thing in the morning, we’re eating a lot of quick fix meals because we may have to leave (or clean up!) due to a showing at a moments notice.

We’re all about learning while incorporating fun here at the Litke Academy for Girls (that’s the name our friend gave our homeschool, LOL!).

It doesn’t get more fun then doing some science experiments with Mr. Rzykruski, from the new Disney movie FRANKENWEENIE that will debut in theaters October 5th.

A couple of years ago we needed to invest in a new TV (okay needed is sort of an over the top word for a TV, no one NEEDS a TV, but you get what I mean…). My husband always on the forefront of technology decided we should get a 3D one. Back then it was quite a risky thing to do because no one really knew if this ‘at home 3D thing’ would take off, you could hardly even buy any movies for it then. Although we paid quite a bit up front for it, over the past few years it has actually saved us a lot of money because we rarely go to the movie theater anymore.

Facebook has a history of sucking me into its games. Most of the time, I’m able to coerce encourage friends and family to play along with me, and now I’ve found another game to take up my time….
