Painting with a Twist | Denton, TX

I was so excited to be able to have a girls’ night out last week at Painting With A Twist in Denton, TX.

Painting with a Twist is a great place to unwind and and share some time with friends.  It’s an artist led painting class combined with a BYOB event.  Sip, Paint.  Paint, Sip.  It’s a fun night out and the Denton, TX location on the northwest corner of Denton Square is a new location for this hot franchise chain.

Boasting two levels with the upper room being able to host large crowds, the old historic building has just the right atmosphere to get you in the mood for painting.

P.F. Chang’s invites you to Spark Something New

Last week, I was contacted to see if I wanted to “Spark Something New” by experiencing some of P.F. Chang’s new menu items that are available in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex.  I must admit we needed a night out – although I was a ‘tad’ bit worried because my husband isn’t the biggest fan of Chinese food – but then I thought, “Heck ya!  It’s time for him to be adventerous, and as the tagline suggests to “Spark Something New.”  This was our first time eating at P.F. Chang’s and we will definitely be back to try out more of the new options.

Patriotic Style: State Traditions American Collection – What’s Your Tradition?

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and celebrating it with long time friends here in Texas last week that also moved here from South Dakota made for a fun day.  There’s a unique feeling that you have toward a country and being patriotic when you CHOOSE to be a citizen of a country than when you’re born one.  I naturally have a place in my being for Canada seeing as that’s my country of birth, but the United States I chose to become a citizen of.  Have you heard the saying “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could”?  Yeah, that about sums it up 😉

Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, Texas

Since moving to the DFW area last July we’ve been slowly working our way through all the sites and attractions in the area.  I’ve written about quite a few of them on the blog so far, and one of the things we really wanted to do in downtown Dallas was visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.  We had a chance to do that last week when they had a Family Media Day, we took advantage of the complimentary entrance fee and I’m so glad we did!  I have A LOT of pictures so you can see the reason why you need to visit if you’re ever in Dallas.

Grapevine Wine Tours

When we moved to North Texas last summer, I was delighted when we found a home close to the city of Grapevine.  It has great tourist appeal and interesting places to visit.  I’ve had the chance to go to numerous locales there in the past year.

When you think of wine, Texas is a state that you probably wouldn’t think of.  But it’s the fourth largest wine producing state.  And I do believe that my new favorite experience in the area is Grapevine Wine Tours.  It’s a fun wine tasting/meal event that gets you a flavor for the wineries located in the area and leaves you with a taste for more…

Medieval Times AndalusianOur daughter only asked for one thing to celebrate her High School Graduation and that was to go to Medieval Times, because there’s nothing like celebrating a coming of age milestone with a meal you get to eat with your fingers and a bit of jousting for entertainment .

The Scarborough Renaissance Festival

We had a chance to go to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival this past weekend.  What made it even more exciting was bringing my parents along with us.  My dad and mom are Faire newbies and it was fun to introduce them to this cultural event.
