Schwan’s | Delicious Food Delivered Right to Your Door!

I like to keep a well stocked freezer. Knowing that I can make a meal on the fly is important to me. Whether it’s because I did not do a good job meal planning for the week, I forgot to thaw meat for dinner, we decide at the last minute to have guests, or because I just don’t feel like cooking something from scratch. Being able to shop for those frozen goods online AND have someone deliver them to my front door…well that’s just the icing on the cake. And I do that with Schwan’s.
Texas Football Traditions with Ozarka® Waters

Tailgating isn’t a word that I grew up familiar with. See, I grew up in Canada where football is a bit of a different game than it is here in the United States. The field is bigger, the end zones deeper and we only get 3 downs. There are more differences of course, but I’d say the biggest is that high school and college football = not a big deal (gasp, I know!!). Tailgating…pretty much non-existent. I mean really think of the logistics in a place where there is generally a first snow fall by Halloween. It’s too cold to tailgate in Canada in October (well I’m kind of exaggerating …maybe)
Saturday Night Chicken Made in Lodge Cookware from Market Street

October. In Texas it’s when fall starts showing its colors. I don’t even know where to start when I think about all the wonderful things that I love about fall. So I think I’ll just say…FOOD. Because this is when I start using my oven again making those comfort food dishes that just fit the fall and winter season so well.

George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum

“Being a tourist” in your own city can be fun. Even though we’ve lived in DFW for over a year now, we’re still discovering the attractions that this area has to offer. And there are a. lot. of them! This past May when my parents came to visit for Amber’s graduation we took them to many different sites and places and one of them was the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Political leanings aside, if you’re ever in an area where any Presidential Library is – be sure to stop in and see it. They are well worth the admission price and the time spent in them.

Pollo Tropical® Comes to Frisco, TX

Pollo Tropical, the beloved Florida-based fast-casual eatery, opened its third and fourth Texas locations in Frisco earlier in September. It is a distinctly Caribbean-inspired restaurant, featuring bold and tangy flavors using savory island spices, mixed herbs and citrus. These are blended into rubs and marinades that enhance the flavors of fresh vegetables and pork, beef and Pollo Tropical’s signature chicken dishes.

It’s August. In Texas. That Means it’s #HatchChileFest at #MarketStreetTX and It’s Awesome

We had only lived in Texas for two weeks last year when August rolled around. I was completely in awe of the Hatch Chile invasion that descends upon the state in August. Little did this Northern transplant know that is because Hatch Chiles from New Mexico are only available during a six week period in August/September.
