Girls Night Out at Spa on the Square in Southlake TX | DFW, TX Area

I don’t get out to the spa much…oh who am I kidding, I don’t get out to the spa at all.  The last time I stepped foot in one was six years ago.  If you’re a mom with younger kids and a tight budget, you know how it is.  By the time every one else is looked after in the family – there’s nothing leftover for you to splurge a bit on yourself!

Last week though, I got to spend a Girls Night Out with a group of local bloggers at the Spa On The Square in Southlake, TX.  Spa On The Square is a full service Day Spa, Med Spa, and Salon located right in Southlake’s Town Square.

This invitational media event was so much fun because it allowed each of us to experience a few of the services that Spa on the Square offers in ‘mini’ sessions.  We had the chance to have our nails done, a microderm or hydro facial, a consultation with a hair specialist, massages and makeup tutorials.

All of the staff that provided the services were beyond helpful and friendly.  Sharing their advice with us moms to rejuvenate and relax us so we could be confident and ready to tackle our full schedules again the next day!

I was super excited to be able to get my nails done at Spa on the Square with services provided by Brandy.  I don’t ever paint my nails myself as whenever I try to it looks like a kindergartener did them!  I was able to choose from a variety of polish colors and chose Thanks a Windmillion which is a quality Opi nail laquer.  There’s something about this polish color that just screamed pick me!

Even though this was just a mini service, my polish stayed on for five days without a chip.  As I write this it is a full week since it’s been done and I only have very slight chips on a few nails.  This polish job will easily last me until the weekend yet.  I’m SO excited to go back next month and get a manicure done again for my parents 50th anniversary party!

My skin care routine lately with some of the blog products I’ve been reviewing has stepped up a notch from what it used to be, but my facial skin still has a lot to be desired.  I got to try out a scaled down HydraFacial treatment from Debra at Spa on the Square at our Girls Night Out.  She could tell just by putting the priming solution on my face that I had some really dry skin in places.  And then she started to perform the facial with her very advanced machine.

HydraFacial

A HydraFacial is a great option for those that don’t want any downtime.  There are no harsh chemicals used in it, so you don’t have to be wary of going out in the sun after having it done (after you put your spf protection on of course), and your facial skin isn’t sensitive at all after it’s completed.  You may have heard about HydraFacials in beauty magazines or in celebrity news, because this is the type of facial the big stars are getting these days!  This facial cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates.

Here Debra’s putting the finishing touches on Daisy from Trendy Mom Reviews after she received her HydraFacial.

I also had the chance to have a hair consultation with Jennifer while I was at Spa on the Square.  I’ve been trying to grow my hair out, and because of that sometimes it just looks blah, and I don’t have that warm fuzzy feeling toward it when I am trying to do something with it in the morning!

From the moment I sat in her chair, it was all about what I could do to make it flatter my face better.   The experience was so good – with styling tips and color ideas – and she whipped out her scissors and shaped my hair for me to make it easier to grow out.  I’m booking an appointment with her for some additional hair cutting and a color job.  I can’t wait to see what magic she can perform!

  1. You should definitely spa more often Tammy…it does our body some good. I go all the time…it's better than a doctor's appointment!!!

  2. That looks like such a fun day! I need to go get my hair done desperately. Finding a few hours to myself is pretty tricky these days.
