Summer Fashion at Grapevine Mills #SummerSizzle #HeardItThru

You all are going to come to realize that I’m going to be talking a lot about Grapevine, TX on my blog. Living so close to a city that offers so much means that I’m driving over there a lot to play, and eat, and shop! This past week I was able to attend a gratis blogger reception at Grapevine Mills, a Simon Outlet Mall, to see a preview of the hottest summer fashions, hence the #SummerSizzle
.
#SpringatKohls ~ Kohl’s Misses Fashion Spring Collections #MC

When I stopped working outside the home in 2006 it’s like my sense of style went away with my job. Staying home during the days and homeschooling our daughter means that the dress code ranges from hoodies and lounge pants to pajamas some days. Now that Amber’s heading to university and I have places to go and people to see outside of that “mom” position I hold so dearly, I need some updated fashions to add to my closet.
Brief History of Sitting Fashionably
Being a blogger and tied to my computer for most of the day, I do a lot of sitting. Not just for that, but of course in the car, in front of the TV, at the kitchen table….sit.sit.sit. And there’s nothing worse than having to sit in an uncomfortable chair. Am I right?
Sometimes chairs that look really comfortable, aren’t at all! And other times those really fancy looking chairs that look like they’d be torture to sit in, well they’re actually quite comfy! Funny how that is.
She Is So Not a Fashionista
My daughter dislikes shopping. A. Lot. She doesn’t like trying things on in changing rooms, she doesn’t like waiting in line.
Therefore I spend a great deal of time shopping for her, either in the store or online. She is so not a fashionista. If she could wear sweat pants and a graphic tee all day every day, that would be her outfit of choice.
So I’ve been trying to encourage her to ‘improve’ on her fashion choices.
Shabby Apple – Perfect Fashions for Spring!
Because of my petite size I have a difficult time finding age appropriate clothing that fits me. I can shop in the Juniors department, but for my tastes the styles usually aren’t modest enough for my liking.
A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to win a blog giveaway for a dress from Shabby Apple. I even wore it to the Girls Night Out party for Blissdom this past weekend.
OASAP Fashion Site
![]()
I was recently introduced to a shopping site called OASAP.com. To say when I had a chance to pick a couple of things out to review that I spent hours looking, would probably be an understatement.
I’ll be working with them on an ongoing basis, so I’ll have a number of posts showing you the type of fashions they have to offer. They ship pretty much everywhere (and shipping is free!), so it doesn’t matter where you live, you can shop there.
Inspired by Celebrity Sunglasses
I am not a big fan of Lady Gaga by any means, but I do like me some Disney characters.
I saw a picture of her looking like Cruella De Vil and while I’m pretty sure it was not for a Halloween event, I have to say…she can actually pull this off.
The Dalmatian effect on the “mouse ears” and red lipstick really set off the stark whiteness of the outfit and her skin tone. Of course so do the mirrored lenses on the sunglasses, which I happen to really like.
Meray Arnett: Comfortable Handbags
Meray Arnett is an ergonomic accessories line, focusing on comfortable shoes and handbags.
Meray Arnett sells a variety of styles, I was sent a Clutch Purse to review, which I think is great. It’s been a hit with all my friends who have seen it. I love that it’s reversible (beige on one side, red on the other), and I can switch it up.
Rapunzel & Flynn Fashion Dolls from Mattel

Gift Guide Pick
This season there are some awesome new fashion dolls from Mattel starring the newest Disney movie characters from Tangled: Rapunzel & Flynn.
Girls will have a great time playing with these dolls and recreating the scenes from the movie that’s coming out this week.
Making a Fashion Statement With a Lanyard
I don’t work outside the home, so I don’t have an identification card to be in a building, that needs to be carried around. Every time we cruise though we receive a lanyard to hold our stateroom cards.
We started out getting red and black cloth ones, and have now graduated to red and grey ones, which distinguish our repeat cruiser status.
By this time though, we’ve amassed twelve of these lanyards and each time we return home they get relegated to the souvenir box, never to see the light of day again. Honestly I don’t even know why we keep them.
