DIY Pallet Art

If you spend a lot of time on Pinterest you’ll know that Pallet Art is a big thing right now.  I’ve always wanted to make an art piece like that, but I’m not very creative.  Luckily for me, our church started doing a Pinterest Party one night a month this summer and the project for July was Pallet Art.  It was so fun to do and while mine isn’t by any means up to the creativity and skill of some of the ladies’ pieces, I placed it proudly in our Texas themed guest bedroom.

What you’ll need to make a pallet art piece similar to mine is:

Simple DIY Washi & Masking Tape Mother’s Day Jar {Great for Kids to Make}

Mother’s Day is in just 9 days folks!  I think there’s been a full moon for about 2 months straight now, because all my friends on Facebook keep making status updates like “Send Chocolate” and “I need to go to the store because I’ve eaten all my chocolate” or “The Easter Chocolate is all gone…now what?”  So after seeing a tutorial on HomeTalk on making Washi Tape Vases, I thought I would make a quick afternoon project for all my chocolate deprived Mom readers using a cleaned out gravy jar.

Holiday Decorating with Energizer Flameless Wax Candles

Now that it’s November I can start thinking of Thanksgiving and Christmas!  We’ve invested in a ton of LED lights for our home since we moved in, replacing nearly all the bulbs.  Not only do they save on energy but they last a whole lot longer than halogens or florescents.  We even love decorating with LED lights, for the same reasons.  We bought ourselves a new Christmas tree (on Halloween no less!) pre-lit with LED bulbs and I love the way they don’t get hot but still emit such a clean light.

DIY: Convert a Large T-shirt Into a Tunic Tank

Ever wonder what to do with those X-Large T-shirts that no one wants to wear, or don’t fit anyone in your home?  Well you can make them into Tunic Tanks for your kids (or yourself if you’re small).

YoCrunch sent me a t-shirt for being a part of their First Taste Family, but it was a 3XL.  My husband is just an X-Large and well you’ve seen me, I’m tiny.  So this shirt wasn’t going to get worn.  But then I saw an article in Family Fun on how to make a grown-up’s t-shirt into a tank or tunic for kids and I thought I’d try it.

Wreck-It Ralph – Build Your Own Game Cabinet + Awesome Cake!!!

Have you had a chance to see WRECK-IT RALPH in the theaters yet? My family and I saw it, and my daughter just loved it. She’s a HUGE video game lover (that’s what she’s planning on going to college for, video game design), and so she was completely enthralled with it. She actually said that Wreck-It Ralph usurped her favorite Disney animated movie, which up to now has been Mulan.
