DIY Felt Valentine’s Chair Back Envelopes

DIY Felt Chair Back Envelopes

Last year Family Fun magazine had a basic tutorial for making these chair-back envelopes for special deliveries leading up to Valentine’s Day.  I thought they were so cute and thought I would make one and share it with you on the blog.

I was talking to a friend about them and she told me that Pottery Barn sold them a few years ago (shows you how long I’ve been out of the loop on things like this since my daughter is older!).  I did a Google search and sure enough these adorable yearly decorations are Pottery Barn loveliness, but also pretty costly.

Wrapped Valentine’s Day Jars

DIY Wrapped Jars

I have a bunch of materials in my home that are just waiting for crafting.  Much to my husband’s chagrin I save a lot of things that I think I can recycle or re-purpose.  Time however is something I don’t have as much of as I do materials, lol!

I had some leftover jute twine from the DIY Texas Wreath I made last month.  I was trying to figure out what to do with it when I spied some empty gravy jars under my sink.

Bringing Texas Home for Christmas with #MarketStreetTX

bringing-texas-home-market-street

I can’t believe Christmas is only a week away.  We’re starting to wrap things up (both literally and figuratively) for the big day.  Last Sunday I got together with some friends for an afternoon of crafting where we were still making Christmas decorations to brighten up our homes.  Most of them have college aged children that were making their way home for Christmas, and the resounding chorus around the table was that they couldn’t wait to get home to TEXAS!

Decorating with Hallmark for the Holidays #KeepsakeIt

We decorate for the holidays early around our home.  Firstly because we grew up in Canada, and since Thanksgiving is celebrated in October there once Halloween has passed it’s a free for all when it comes to Christmas decorating.  Secondly not only do I love the holiday decorations, but it takes so much work to get the house all seasonally decorated I want to have it up as long as I can!!  Our tree is up every year on November 11th.

Last year we bought a brand new 7′ tall LED Christmas tree.  It is bee-you-tee-ful.  It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our home and when it’s all lit up at night, you can’t help but get a warm & fuzzy feeling inside.

Thanksgiving Treat Tag Printables

By the time November rolls around, if you’re like me, you’re wishing time would stop for a couple of hours each day so that you can get everything done.  When my daughter was younger I had the best intentions to thank the people that were teaching her and keeping her safe with baked goodies…but usually it never happened.  Then I told myself…it’s okay to cheat!  And by cheat I mean pick up some treats at the grocery store bakery.

DIY Chalkboard Christmas Card Box

Chalkboard projects are all the rage right now.  From Memo Boards to Fonts, that ‘chalky’ look is what people are gravitating toward.  But chalk is messy!  The dust and smearing on a chalkboard…ick!

I’ve been trying to find a way to display my Christmas cards.  Every year I try something different.  I’ve tried taping them to our fireplace brick.  Hanging them from a stretched string.  One year I had a stand that had clips to hold them.  None of them worked out for me.

DIY Chalkboard Hydration Chart | Inspired by Crystal Light Drink Mixes

Are you like me and find it difficult to get your suggested water intake each day?  I have no problems drinking my fair share of coffee or pop, but water… that’s a whole different story.  Adding Crystal Light drink mixes is an easy fix that makes water more flavorful, but for me if the packages are not front and center when I’m opening the fridge, I’ll reach for something else.  So, I solved that problem by making my own Chalkboard Hydration Chart, where I can track my water intake daily/weekly AND have the Crystal Light packets close at hand, so no excuses!

Beautiful Things: Wood Clip Frame

Last month I shared with you all how the Women’s Ministry in our church was doing a Pinterest Party each month where they’d choose a craft and we could all come and make it with our own twist.  While it was supposed to just be a program that they were going to do over the summer, there was so much interest and so many women signing up that they decided to continue doing it year round and they are calling it “Beautiful Things.”  In July we did some Pallet Art.  August’s project was a Wood Clip Frame.
