I will be the first one to admit that the dental hygienist is not on my favorite people to visit list. That being said, because of the lack of dental insurance I had when I was a young adult and subsequent teeth cleaning scaling I had because I had not visited the dentist in a couple of years, I now take my family’s oral health care very seriously.

As my regular readers know, I review a number of different brands on my site for all different kinds of products, but the brands I trust completely and am very loyal to for healthy teeth is Crest and Oral-B.

Anyone who knows me knows I love Disney, and if I had to compare myself to any Disney character it would be Tinker Bell. Tiny and sassy, we’re two of a kind!

I’m not a big cosmetics wearer, at least not for everyday wear. So when I do wear cosmetics, I do subtle, and the new PixiGlow line inspired by Tinker Bell by Pixi Cosmetics is right up my alley.

Last month, I shared about X Out treatment, and let you know that my daughter was going to take it for a ‘test drive’ and then tell you what she thought of it, and show you the results. So the next part of the post is actually written by Amber to let you know her impressions of the X Out treatment.

The Rosemary Repel line, as well as the Tear Free, Detangling, and Styling line of Fairy Tales Hair Care products, were created in the Fairy Tales Salon in Hewlett, NY. Interestingly enough, they kept their “secret recipe” under wraps until 1999 when they decided to launch the hair care line nationally.

It’s not a coincidence that these products make children’s hair soft and manageable, as they contain Vitamins A,B and E and passion flower, aloe, and jojoba.

If you have a teenager in your home you know the hormones in their body effect everything from their skin to their attitude. The quicker my teen can get something done that she isn’t fond of doing the better, for both her…and me!

I’m a bit of a lotion junkie. I’ve tried all kinds from cheap to expensive and a lot of them are not worth the money I spent on them. Sure I love unique scents and however fun those kind of lotions are to use, in winter I’m looking for relief. Winter always leaves me with dry chapped hands.

So last Monday I blogged about Bob Harper’s Smart Weight Loss supplements.  I told you I’d ‘weigh’ in (ooh bad pun, I know!) on my thoughts about it and any weight loss or gain I had using it.  

I started on January 1st with the Smart Weight Loss Starter Kit, which had me taking 2 of the AM formulated pills 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch and then 2 of the PM formulated pills 30 minutes before dinner.  A recommended 30 minutes of exercise per day, approximately 1600 calorie meal plan, the use of a multi-vitamin and 8-10 glasses of water were also a part of the ‘program’.

Inspired by a new year DIY challenge from a friend of mine I searched online for something to make with ingredients I already had in my home.  I decided to make an Aloe Vera Lip Gloss which will give a shine to my lips and protect, moisturize and heal them all at the same time!

One of the great things that come with a new year is a new chance to be a better you, whatever that means to you.  It may mean improving your body, engaging your mind or focusing on a deeper spiritual relationship, or perhaps all three.  But kick starting them and maintaining them are two different things!

My main focus this year is to live a more quality life in all three of those aspects, to help me on the body is Bob Harper’s Smart Success products.

I wanted to share the news about Emmy award-winner Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Mike & Molly) being named Ivory’s new “soap” person, serving as host of its new online social community “The Soap Dish.”  It’s all part of the “holistic reinvention” of the brand which kicked-off in October with the debut of modernized packaging.
