April 25, 1996, the day that had a lasting effect on the rest of my life; the day I became a mom.

And the question then arose: What Kind of Mom Would I Be?

It turns out I’m the kind of mom that would end up wearing the same clothes I had on the day before because of those late night (or early morning) feedings every few hours.  The days of diva fashionista for me came to an end quickly.  But that was okay, it was far more fun to dress up that tiny little girl than myself any way.

We’re in the home stretch around here in regards to high school.  In just 10 days my baby will be walking across a stage and receiving her high school diploma.  We’ve been doing a lot of talking the last few weeks because I know the days of me being the person she spends the most time with are soon to be gone. 

Within those conversations I want to be “real.”

In a couple of weeks we are looking forward to doing so many things!  Our daughter turned 18 at the end of April and is graduating from high school on the 17th.  My parents and my best friend and Amber’s best friend are all coming to celebrate those two occasions.

When Amber was five we went to Orlando for a vacation and we visited Medieval Times.  It was such a fun evening, and she even got the chance to be crowned the Queen of Love & Beauty by our section’s knight who ‘won’ the jousting event.

Hah! Did you think I was talking about the weather?!  I’m just kind of curious how many of your kids (or you, yourselves) are still on the Frozen bandwagon?  We had a lot of fun making our Olaf Waffle Pops in March and shopping for some Frozen merchandise.  Since then here are a few new things I’ve found that are Frozen related, but you all know that if you see something Frozen you should BUY it, because like I found out below, it WILL be gone if you change your mind later …

We’ve been loyal Walmart #FamilyMobile customers for almost a year now.  The great thing about blogging is being able to try new products and services.  Through a #CollectiveBias campaign last year my husband got to activate a line and try out an Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web through Walmart Family Mobile and we loved it so much we added two more lines to the plan.  One for our daughter and one for me.

You may have noticed me talking a lot about graduation on the blog lately.  That’s kind of consuming our lives right now.

We’re in the countdown to graduating our high school senior around here. Just two weeks to go and Amber will be done Part I of her education venture .   With a few months of little responsibility and then back into it full time as she moves onto the university campus in fall to study Arts and Technology with a major in Video Game design.

Agnitus is a Tablet (iPad, Android, Kindle) app that has over 45 educational games for children 2-6 years old.  This is a great resource for homeschool families with younger children.  I’d say it’s best for the mid range in those ages 3-5.

Agnitus offers curriculum-based, fun learning games and they also offer a grading system & report cards!

The app focuses on literacy and math skills, but they have some other games in there as well including one for tooth brushing.

Mother’s Day is in just 9 days folks!  I think there’s been a full moon for about 2 months straight now, because all my friends on Facebook keep making status updates like “Send Chocolate” and “I need to go to the store because I’ve eaten all my chocolate” or “The Easter Chocolate is all gone…now what?”  So after seeing a tutorial on HomeTalk on making Washi Tape Vases, I thought I would make a quick afternoon project for all my chocolate deprived Mom readers using a cleaned out gravy jar.

I was trying sundresses on at the store the other day and when looking in the mirror I realized just how pale and un-summer (is that a word?) ready my skin actually is.  So I decided to do a round-up of products that will help me (and maybe you!) get my skin from face to toes ready in no time to enjoy the summer sun.
