Those that know me, know that I tend to be on the frugal side.  I like to get the best deal on …well everything!  And with a daughter in college and a home that needs some tlc and improvements, I save wherever I can.  When we do our taxes it’s always an eye opener as we go through our finances, because we have a better idea of where we are spending our money throughout the year.  We typically end up owing (insert sad face here), but knowing that we’re doing our best to stretch our dollars with things like our Lowest Priced Unlimited Plans from Walmart Family Mobile, makes writing that check in April a bit more tolerable.

There are waaay too many nights that I am up until 3AM because I’m trying to catch up on all that I need to do.  Most of those have to do with my blog.  Which leaves me with the dilemma of…do I scale back on my business or do I leave my household tasks undone?  I also have other things I want to do with my time, like spend it with my family and enjoy my hobbies.  If only I had a few clones or few extra hours every day.  But I don’t, so what’s a girl to do?

Well I recently was given the chance to check out a new app called WayTaskers.  It’s free and available for both Android and Apple phones

Language is life. As social creatures, our ability to communicate with those around us define the limits and borders of our world. Learning a foreign language not only expands our ease of travel, but expands our world, inviting in beautiful complexity of new cultures and ideas. It would be hard to argue that learning a foreign language is good for you, but of course, learning a language can be a Giant investment of time and resources.

I keep my pantry pretty full, I think it’s the expectation that there may be a time where I just can’t get out to the store to shop.  Whether that be because of weather, illness, lack of money, or yes even the chance of a zombie apocalypse <– you know because if you watch The Walking Dead you’ll notice that it’s the CANNED FOODS that get pillaged from the cupboards.  I’m hedging my bets with the cans folks.

This past Tuesday at Boston’s Restaurant I had the chance to participate in a good ol’ fashion BAKE-OFF amongst fellow Dallas area bloggers.  Boston’s head chef Lupe, showed us how to create the ultimate Heart-Shaped Pizza like a pro.  We got numerous toppings to use, and after we assembled our pizzas, they were taken back to be cooked and wham-bam, they were ready to be judged!

My husband and I have never been big on spending a lot of money for Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t mean we don’t take the chance to do a little something for each other to show our love for one another.  

For him that means that he will light a fire, sit and watch a ‘chick flick,’ pop up some popcorn and pour a glass of wine for me.  Things we already have around the home, but showing that he knows what makes me happy.

Usually I opt for giving him chocolate and spend some time gaming with him, but this year I decided to do something a little different.

We just went grocery shopping today, and as we were checking out I watched what was being scanned across the register.  We had some pretty healthy foods in the cart and others…not so much 😉  I try and purchase wholesome foods, but I know that we are still pretty far from our goal in getting all our essential vitamins and nutrients.  

I know that I should have plenty of fruits and vegetables in our weekly meal plans because of their important nutrients.  Late last year when I went for my wellness check, I received a phone call letting me know that my cholesterol levels were creeping toward that ‘borderline high’ mark.

Back when we lived up North we washed our vehicles a lot.  With the huge amounts of salt and sand that get put on the roads during winter, you have to or you risk damaging the paint on your vehicle body.

Now that we live down South, I admit we’re not nearly as fanatical at keeping our vehicles clean, especially when it’s colder outside, so usually the cars just stay dirty until the weather gets nicer and we can wash them in our driveway.

Whether you’re as crafty as Martha Stewart or a novice user with a glue gun, Michaels has a way of bringing out the creativity in everyone!  Yesterday evening I had the chance to see the newest Michaels DFW location, located at 1051 E. Southlake Blvd. in Southlake Park Village shopping center, Southlake, TX.  If you’re in the area you have to get out and see the new store at the official grand opening on Sunday, February 8th.  It has a brand new intuitive shopping experience, that you’re going to love.

I’m not leaving out the rest of you though 🙂

Even with a regular exercise routine, trying to eat properly and getting the recommended hours of sleep – it’s possible that your body just isn’t getting what it needs completely and a dietary supplement like a multivitamin can help.
