Many credit cards and all U.S. passports issued after 2006 (plus some other ID cards, such as workplace IDs and some state drivers licenses) contain radio frequency identification (RFID) chips that broadcast personal information. They are constantly transmitting and thieves that have an RFID reader can capture that information just by walking by you. That’s right, even if the credit card or passport is in a bag or a purse they can get that information, and the only way they can’t is if you block that signal.

I peruse stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby and websites like Zulilly and proclaim with nearly everything I see: “I could make that…and a lot cheaper!” But then I never do it. “Enough!” I said after seeing both a wreath with a wine cork monogram online and stand alone burlap monograms at the store.

I did however need a ‘little’ help from Michaels and Dollar Tree, to make my own Cork Monogram.

A survey commissioned by Schlage, and conducted online by Harris Poll in September among over 2,000 U.S. adults found that four out of five Americans believe there would be benefits to having a keyless electronic lock on their home’s door.

There’s something about the dazzling display of a tablet or smartphone that tends to keep a preschooler engaged.  Probably because they love the automatic of touching something and receiving an immediate response.  I’m one of those moms that has no issues with ‘screen time’ if the apps are helpful in nature, and I recently had a chance to review Pica Preschool which is a pretty neat interactive story app for a preschool aged child.

My Disney story began in 1978 when my parents took our family to Disney World for Christmas.  I was only five years old, so don’t remember a lot about it (except being terribly scared on The Haunted Mansion ride!).  I knew I was engaged to be married to the perfect guy when we were discussing honeymoon options and we both decided to we wanted to go to Disney World.

That began a string of Disney being woven into our lives between trips to the World and Land, Cruises (five so far!) and personal touches in our home and relationships that all have to do with Disney.

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to visit Beauty Brands newest store in North Texas.  Located on Southlake Blvd in Southlake, TX, Beauty Brands is a salon and spa superstore.

This was the first time I had the chance to visit any Beauty Brands store and it really is a one stop shop when it comes to your beauty needs.

The range of products and brands is huge.  From skin care and make up to hair products and hair appliances and everything in between, you’ll find all you need from head to toe.

February.  That time of the year when things just feel…blah.  The holidays are over, spring still is a while away, many of us are stuck inside for one reason or another and those winter blues kick in.  So with the help of Honey Bunches of Oats ‘Bake at Home’ Granola Snackers I hosted a party at my home, invited some friends and we had a great time talking and snacking those winter blahs away!

I live in an incredible community.  We’ve only lived in the North Texas area for 1 1/2 years but it didn’t take long for it to feel like home, and much of that had to do with the people who live in the area.  The cities and towns in the Dallas metroplex just kind of flow into each other, and we happen to live right on the border of Lewisville, TX  and Flower Mound, TX.  The people and places of Flower Mound are just as much a party of our life and community as Lewisville is. People like those that worship at  Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, in Flower Mound, TX.

To successfully brew a good cup of coffee, you need to have the right tools, and if you all are aware of my passion for coffee, you know that I have MANY (many, many) tools to brew a cup of coffee.

In an effort to show me that there is a stand out machine in the crowd, iCoffee gave me their new single serve Opus Brewer to try out in my own home coffee bar (yes, I confess I have a built-in barista bar in my home, complete with a pass through window, fridge and sink!).
