“Take a Sandwich Road Trip with Kraft Foods!”
In July, Kraft Foods will be launching an interactive microsite on www.Outstandwich.com that will act as a virtual trip around the country, as we search of the best regional sandwiches. Some of the sandwiches will be inspired by the Kraft Kitchen Experts, but others are coming straight from bloggers (and I’m sure you’ve seen some posts up for these already) and their readers (hoping I’ve got your attention now!
)
Beef and Vegetable Pizza
With my having gone to Nebraska earlier in the week, the state which provides the U.S. with 84% of their beef, it’s only natural that we would have consumed a lot of beef while we were there!
At the end of my trip I also received the healthy beef cookbook put out by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the American Dietetic Association. It has over 130 luscious lean beef recipes for every occasion.
Vanilla Cupcake French Toast

Birthdays are special days, and special days require special starts, and how much better to start the day than with a French Toast breakfast that will bring a smile to not just the birthday person’s face, but their stomach as well?!
Chips Ahoy Ice Cream Sandwiches Recipe
We have FINALLY entered into weather that you could maybe call ‘summer’. I know it’s officially summer when we go for a walk outside and I come home with blisters on the back of my heels. That happened last week, so summer it officially is!
2 Easy Sides For Dinner
One of the biggest challenges I have when making dinner is the side dishes. I want to mix it up and not eat the same things 3x a week. I’ve been on the hunt for reliable side dishes for years and have scored a couple of good recipes. These are two of my newest favorites, that the whole family eats, without complaining.
Chicken a la Princess Casserole
The other day my daughter asked me to make Chicken a la King. I’ve never made it before and so went looking for some recipes. One thing I noted no matter where I found the recipes; they either included peas, mushrooms and/or pimentos.
Parmesan Popcorn
If you’re in the mood for some popcorn with a bit of seasoning try sprinkling some parmesan on it. Here’s an easy recipe that you can make in the microwave but tastes just like stove top popped. Much tastier than store bought micro-wave popcorn.
Cralmonary Swiss Turkey Sandwich
I was so excited to be able to participate in the Black & Decker Ultimate Sandwich Campaign. I thought I would pick my mom’s brain for ideas for tasty sandwich creations when we visited at Easter, but it was actually a ‘crisp bread’ snack that I had there that inspired my sandwich. This small round snack was infused with raisins, almonds and rosemary.
Cucumber Salad
A favorite summer time salad that has it’s roots in European cuisine serves up cucumbers and dill in a cream dressing. I grew up on this, with both my Oma and my mom making it, and also my mother-in-law, and it’s one of my favorite dishes. You can make it with a variety of ingredients, my mom makes hers with sour cream while my mother-in-law made hers with heavy cream, but the secret ingredient is really the dill!
