I grew up with severe Canadian winters, you need some serious skin therapy up there from the wind and the cold. Dry, cracked skin…that’s pretty normal for most people.  Moisturizing is something you learn to do heavily and often, and doing that has become routine with me over the years even though I’ve continuously moved further South from the harsher climate.

I wasn’t a tomboy growing up, but I wasn’t a ‘girly’ girl either.  When I got older I had a bit of catching up to do when it came to beauty tricks and hair care since I never really had interest in those things when I was a teen.  

When we first got married I was all about looking and feeling beautiful…but on a budget.  Through friends, magazines and TV I learned some ways to accomplish that without breaking the bank.  Here are a few of them.

I got together with some friends a few days ago and one of the things we were talking about was how we were all ‘tightening up the belt,’ so to speak, when it comes to finances partially due to the upcoming holidays.  We were brainstorming ways that we could save a little cash to make gift shopping not as hard on the wallet, and we agreed that we could all forfeit at least one day at the spa in order to use that cash toward holiday spending.
