What Was In My #HolidayVoxBox
I recently signed up with Influenster and was deemed influential enough to receive their Holiday VoxBox filled with product samples to help with glamming up the party scene. If you’d like to be an Influenster too – you can apply to be a tastemaker for access to perks, products and offers – no blog required – http://bit.ly/Q7ZOvM.
These are the items that I got in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox and what I thought of them:
Who Would Steal Signs For Real Estate?

So as many of you know, we currently have our home for sale. It’s actually been for sale for much longer than we had hoped, the housing market where we live is still pretty weak, as is evident by all the Signs For Real Estate in our development.
Amid the waiting for the right buyer to come along, there has been a pretty humorous incident though.
Back in November we went to Canada for my brother’s wedding. Since we weren’t going to be around anyway, we told our agent to go ahead and hold a couple of open houses to showcase our home while we were away.
Your New Year’s Resolutions?! Master Lock Give Away
Well I don’t know how many of you made a New Year’s resolution, but I usually don’t only because I know that I probably won’t follow through with it! This year I decided to actually make one. Just one though, that way I won’t have so much pressure to actually stick to more than one.
Yes, like many it has to do with my health. Not so much a diet or weight loss, but more of a resolution to eat healthier. To incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my day, and eat more whole grains. And of course exercising more – just to be more fit in general.
Start Your New Year With…
May your dreams find their wings,
may life’s clouds be few,
may your future be bright and hope shine anew
To bless you and keep you
with joy far and near —
A beautiful start to a beatiful year!

Did You Know…
By ★ SimonPixThe first New Year’s Eve ball dropped from atop a flagpole at One Times Square at the stroke of midnight in 1908.
The original ball, was made from iron and wood and weighed 700 pounds!
The ball they use today sparkles so brightly because it’s covered in Waterford crystals.
The ball has gained a little weight over the years (much like many of us!!), it now weighs a whopping 11,875 pounds! Wowee!
Do you tune in to watch the ball drop?
Pocquettes™ iPhone®/Earbud Case
I’ve had so much fun “wrapping” up my iPhone in accessories this holiday season. And I just have to share about one of the ways I’ve done that with a gift I got from Levenger.
A chic yet protective way to carry your smartphone is the Pocquettes iPhone/Earbud Case. It holds and iPhone 4S (and possibly other models of smartphones with similar dimensions), and your earbuds.
It came in a nice box and even included a cleaning cloth.
The Do Not Call List for Junk Mail
By LizMarie_AKMost of us have our phone numbers on the Do Not Call list so that we don’t receive unsolicited calls. But did you know that you can sort of do that with junk mail too?
If you’ve ever ordered something online, a few weeks later you’ve probably started getting catalogs in the mail. And then some other stuff. From places you’ve never even heard of. Am I right? And while you may appreciate the odd one on occasion, most of them probably end up in your garbage recycling. What a waste.

Alamo Then & Now: How My Family Travels Now

A little over a week ago, I shared with you a bit about how my family traveled while I was growing up as part of a campaign from Alamo featuring the Then & Now of Family Travel. One of my favorite trips was one to Germany to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. While we were there my parents rented a car and took my siblings and I on a road trip to several other European countries.
Traveling as a parent myself now with my family is similar, but also very different!
