Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Fantasia Inspiration Trailer

When we were on our Disney Transatlantic Cruise in April we watched a lot of movies.  It’s one of the perks of a Disney ship; because it’s their own content, the movies they own and are shown, for the most part are all first run movies.  Meaning if they’re in the theater in the U.S., they’re also on the ship at that time too.

Of course even on the ship they show trailers of the new movies that are on the horizon, and that’s where we were first introduced to the Jerry Bruckheimer movie ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ set to release in theaters July 14th.

Now when you see a trailer for the first time, you’re not generally made aware of the title before the end

Pirates of the Caribbean has always been our favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom, long before the movies came out we were fascinated by pirates! Take a peek at this picture of Genius at 2 1/2 with her “Pirate Ears”.

Then of course we have her at 10 with a little more of an elaborate Pirate Costume on, hanging out with Mickey outside Lumieres on the Disney Magic.

The Little Mermaid Gets a Male Counterpart

Hah! With all the Disney movie postings I’ve been doing this week, I bet you though this was a Disney DVD or movie sequel to The Little Mermaid, but I assure you it’s not.

Actually this is the real deal, over in Denmark they just unveiled “Han” (no not Solo, stay with me here – Han actually means “him” in Danish). He’s a polished stainless steel sculpture of a young boy on a stone, in the same artistic vein as ‘The Little Mermaid’.

Frankenweenie

We saw a trailer for this new Disney movie coming out October 5th. It is done by Tim Burton, who is very well known for his somewhat “macabre” creativity when it comes to directing.

What seems to make this stop-motion animated film unique is that it was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. I wasn’t sure when we saw the trailer if the black and white was just a “marketing” gimmick, but it looks like it wasn’t. I’m interested in seeing how that will go over with the young’uns.
