Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Fantasia Inspiration Trailer

When we were on our Disney Transatlantic Cruise in April we watched a lot of movies.  It’s one of the perks of a Disney ship; because it’s their own content, the movies they own and are shown, for the most part are all first run movies.  Meaning if they’re in the theater in the U.S., they’re also on the ship at that time too.

Of course even on the ship they show trailers of the new movies that are on the horizon, and that’s where we were first introduced to the Jerry Bruckheimer movie ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice‘ set to release in theaters July 14th.

Now when you see a trailer for the first time, you’re not generally made aware of the title before the end of it.  So while we were watching it, we’re were trying to guess what this movie with jaw dropping special effects and the ever entertaining Nicolas Cage was.  Call me crazy, but if someone would have told me that they would make the classic scene from Fantasia into a live action feature, I would have said “Can’t Be Done”.

Well, Jon Turteltaub and Jerry Bruckheimer combined with the magic of Disney, can do just about anything, and they’ve proved it with the National Treasure movies.  Judging by the trailers I’ve seen so far, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will be another blockbuster.

In “Fantasia – The Coolest Scene Ever,” the filmmakers share how it all began – with an 8 minute scene of classic animation – and take us on the journey of how the film got made and the inspiration of Fantasia. Here it is for your viewing:
