I get a lot of e-mails in my inbox for sales and savings. I’m not a deal blogger so I don’t share all of them with you, but every so often one catches my eye and before I delete it, I take a look to see what kind of coupon code or offer is being promoted.

Lately, a lot of them have been for London and the United Kingdom, with the Olympics I guess that kind of makes sense, but obviously those are deals that I really couldn’t take advantage of being way over here on the other side of the ocean and all.

You know I love traveling, and I have always wanted to go to New York (I don’t think being only in the JFK Airport counts). I’d love to see the sights, hear the sounds, ride the subway and experience the food! I’d love to recreate the atmosphere here at home, but have you ever tried to make South Dakota look and feel like New York? It’s a really hard thing to do…well maybe except for the food…

I am by no means a cake decorator. I’ve used character cake pans in the past, and some of the fancy icing tips, but really in all honesty I much prefer something a bit simpler.
