Some girls like shoes, other girls like diamonds – me I’m happy if you give me a hot beverage and a tech gadget…yeah I’m kind of geeky like that. If you look through my cupboards you’ll see lots of mugs and cups to drink hot beverages from. I have some favorites, but do like a variety for different beverages and different occasions, especially if I have guests over. I recently had a chance to try out a new app for kids called Dot to Dot Zoo. Dot to Dot Zoo has been released on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Kindle Tablet. This is the first in a series of Dot to Dot apps to be released from RouxBee. Dot to Dot Zoo allows children to learn or practice how to print their uppercase letters, finish dot to dot puzzles of animals, name them and learn fun facts about them too.

We’ve all thought it when we’ve seen a celebrity chef that’s slim – “How do they stay trim with a career like that?”

Allison Adato explores this in her new book Smart Chefs Stay Slim by interviewing America’s Best Chefs and getting lessons on eating and living from them.

I was thrilled to be able to read this book, as well as try some of the chef created recipes in my own kitchen.

If you are a Tim Burton fan, I suspect you have already seen this movie in the theater. But if cost or time prevented you from viewing it in October when it was released, I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to add this

I got the chance to try out some natural lip balms from an Austin, Texas based company; Elle Naturals. I’ll admit that I fell in love with these lip balms before I even opened them up, just from looking at the labels I knew I’d love them.

How could you not with ‘flavors’ like Mango Butter with Lime, Green Tea Butter with Peppermint, Shea Butter with Grapefruit and my personal favorite, Coffee Butter Vanilla Latte. Once I tried them though, it wasn’t just the flavors I loved but how they kept my lips soft too.

One of the reasons we personally love homeschooling is because of the way we can adapt our curriculum to our daughter’s particular learning methods. As a gifted learner who prefers not to read, we’ve seen proven academic results from using multi-media products such as computer software, CDs, DVDs and tablet apps when it comes to her education.

So as many of you know, we currently have our home for sale. It’s actually been for sale for much longer than we had hoped, the housing market where we live is still pretty weak, as is evident by all the Signs For Real Estate in our development.

Amid the waiting for the right buyer to come along, there has been a pretty humorous incident though.

Back in November we went to Canada for my brother’s wedding. Since we weren’t going to be around anyway, we told our agent to go ahead and hold a couple of open houses to showcase our home while we were away.

I have a smile on my face every time I walk into my dining room and this is why.
