Hectic Schedules: How to Keep a Clear Head #Mucinex

My goal everyday is to just get through it without it turning into a reality TV episode. Some days I feel like that clown; juggling fire while walking on bombs! You just know if you drop one — KABOOM! A hectic day can look a little like this in my life:
6:30 AM– Wake up because the phone rings, of course it’s a wrong number and it’s a day I could have slept in a bit longer too 🙁
7:00 AM– Daughter yells from her room that the only pair of clean socks she has, have a hole in them. Laundry or darn? I dig in my drawers to give her a pair of mine. She groans. I groan.
5 Days to a Clutter Free House

When you’re trying to sell your home and you get offered to write a review on a book called “5 Days to a Clutter Free House” you jump right on that.
I struggle with clutter – it’s not that my house is messy, it usually isn’t, but we like to ‘keep’ things. It’s what we do around here. But as so many of you know, all those little things tend to add up, and then there’s no room to keep them anymore, or if you’re like us in our transition in life, you have to box them up to move them, and it seems so so overwhelming.

To celebrate the Every Day Hero in each of us, Dollar General chose Sabrina Williams as its Every Day Hero for February 2013. Emmy Rossum Album Review
When it comes to most things in life, I’m generally known as being quite conservative. So when I had the opportunity to review Sentimental Journey, Emmy Rossum’s new CD that was released on January 29th, I knew it would probably be a good fit for me by the press release that accompanied the request.
If you close your eyes when listening to this CD you can almost transport yourself back in time. I pictured dance halls and USO shows circa World War II. Emmy Rossum captures the era in a way that is both soulful and classy.
Go Red with AHA and Real Women + a Heart Healthy Recipe
I’m sharing on behalf of American Heart Association and their Go Red for Women Campaign. Women’s heart health is important to me as my dear mother-in-law passed away five years ago from heart disease. February 1st, is the 10th National Wear Red Day, a moment in time when women and their families take action against the #1 killer of women – heart disease. While the movement has succeeded in saving 627,000 lives through awareness and education, the fight is far from over.
Recycling Ink Toner Cartridges

I don’t consider myself particularly green, but our family does what it can to reduce the impact on the environment. We’ve been using fluorescent light bulbs for years, I bring my own bags to the store when I shop and we recycle most everything we can if possible.
Papers, plastic and glass are a given, and we gather up our electronics about twice a year when they’re either broken or obsolete and bring those to the hazardous waste site (in our city they take electronics and things you can’t just ‘throw’ in the trash year round).
Lean Pockets Pretzel Bread Sandwiches Give Away
I don’t know how you all are doing with the New Year’s resolutions, but I suspect some of you have fallen of the band wagon with me. I was doing really well until the other night when we had a house showing over the dinner hour, so we went out to eat. Granted the food was really good, and I enjoyed not cleaning up my kitchen afterward but my decision making on the menu had something to be desired 😉 .
SAFE HAVEN Film Release Trailer
![]()
I love movies based on Nicholas Sparks’ books and am looking forward to the new one being released in theaters on February 14th based on his novel Safe Haven.
Safe Haven is an affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to love again. When a mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children
Reader’s Digest Presents The Digest Diet Cookbook

Well here it is a month into the new year, and I can honestly say that I’ve been doing really well watching what I’ve been eating. I didn’t set out to lose any weight per say, but just to eat a bit healthier and be more active. It’s obviously been working, and I have been using different books over the past few weeks to get into a routine. I have actually lost nearly 4 pounds, plus I have more energy and have been sleeping better!
One of the books that I received was Reader’s Digest “The Digest Diet Cookbook.”
