Paska – a Traditional Easter Bread, Made Easy for Busy Moms

I grew up in a community that had a strong Mennonite/German population, many of whom immigrated from Eastern Europe. A staple traditional recipe in those homes at Easter time is Paska, which is a sweet bread.

My childhood best friend’s mom, made a loaf of Paska just for me each year. When we graduated from high school, a family friend took over when she found out how much I loved it. Then when I got married, my sister-in-law made it for me. And then we moved from Canada to the U.S. and my supply chain of Paska….stopped!

iTooch Elementary School App Review

Using the iPad or and iPhone/iTouch for education is such a great way for kids to have fun while learning. Many times they don’t even view it as “work” because of the way the apps present the material.

I recently had the chance to review the free app iTooch Elementary School on my iPad (you can use it on your iPhone/iTouch as well) and want to share a bit about it with you. iTooch is a cute little orange cartoon character that will help your child proceed through the app.

Alamo’s Pin Your Happy Place ~ Pinterest Give Away worth over $400!!

Who is completely over this winter?! ME TOO! It’s extremely bitter for me as we had thought we would have already sold our home and would be living in Texas by now.

I’m so looking forward to summer. If we still live here (which I hope not!), we’ll be taking a road trip up north to Canada to attend my niece’s wedding. It’s the first one of my nieces and nephews on my side of the family to get married.

New For Dummies Book Selection – iPad in Education

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I sort of have a thing an obsession with my Apple products.

I get a little giddy thinking about ALL the things these little powerhouse electronics can do for me. Then, I talk a little too much about it to people who probably could care less.

I’m sure though for every 10 people that tune me out, there is one that wants to know all the neat things I can do. And if they ask a question or two, I’m happy to go on for hours.

#NIVEAMoments ~ ‘Emotional’ Heart Health with Skincare

As many of you know, February is Heart Health month, where many products and services let us know that it’s important for us to take care of our physical hearts. That’s an important topic to me, since both of my in-laws succumbed to heart disease. But ’emotional’ heart health is just as important, and it’s often something that I need to work on by connecting touches within my own home.

I don’t know if you’re aware of Gary Chapman’s “The Five Love Languages,” but it is a great insight on the basic five ways that people experience love. It’s broken down into; 1. Acts of Service, 2. Quality Time, 3. Gifts, 4. Physical

New 60-Min Shakespeare Edition – Taming of the Shrew

Shakespeare’s works are some of the archetypes of classics, for both reading and performing. Whichever way you choose to take it, 60-Minute Shakespeare helps you do it. We read the newest edition in the series “Taming of the Shrew,” and Cass Foster has condensed the play so that it’s shorter and easier to read. If you want to act out the play, the abridged version helps the performance to keep to an hour (hence the title).
