Back when we first got married, between my husband’s job and mine we weren’t raking in big bucks.  So when we decided that I’d be a stay-at-home mom, the little income I did make went “poof” and we needed to get creative sometimes when it came to making ends meet. 

Besides eating a. lot. of macaroni and cheese, there were times I’d brew my coffee grounds twice (ugh, I think back to that now and I totally cringe that I ever did that!)

Our daughter loves meatballs.  It’s one of her favorite foods to eat.  Maybe because they’re a “mini” food, I don’t know but if meatballs are on the menu, she’s a happy girl.  Last May when her BFF graduated from high school, at her open house party there was a slow cooker full of meatballs.  Amber was in heaven, as a matter of fact she was talking about those meatballs all summer (yeah, she needs some more extra curricular activities apparently). 

In case you can’t tell, I like the number 3. They say good things come in threes. I often feel like I’m being pulled in three different directons (hence, my blog name!). And of course my family is the perfect size for me, just the three of us.

So when I was told about an offer beginning today at our local Safeway affiliate store, Tom Thumb, for ‘SAVE $3 when you buy ANY THREE (3) participating Hillshire Brands products’ when using the rewards card…

I’m finding it a little difficult to shift my thinking from ‘summer’ to Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.  Why?  Well when you’re used to the cool fall temperatures and sometimes even snow falling prior to Halloween, and then you move to an environment where on October 12th you’re walking around Lowe’s looking at Christmas trees in a sleeveless dress and flip flops (true story) and you’re NOT on vacation…well everything just seems a little surreal.

I’m really finding it hard to believe that it’s already the 13th of October.  I’ve been really busy with the blog, our house, Amber’s schooling and college entrance requirements; most days I’m lucky to be in bed before midnight only to wake up and start all over again.  Which is why I’m looking forward to that extra hour of sleep on November 3rd.  That’s right it’s ‘fall back‘ time – daylight savings.
