I’m pretty much set for Christmas around my home.  After just saying good-bye to my parents the other day after they visited for Thanksgiving, I’ll be expecting my sister and her family in a couple of weeks to celebrate Christmas with us!  Except for a gift for my brother-in-law yet, the only thing I have left to do is order Christmas flowers for the dining room table for a centerpiece.  I’ve been scoping out Teleflora.com for the perfect one.

Over the last couple of months, we’ve been doing just a little tiny bit of college prep. Campus visits, applications, and even the occasional senior photo shoot to send out a bazillion cards for Christmas, some for family, some for friends.

Usually we send out cards with a family picture on it, but this year we wanted to showcase the beautiful pictures Brandy Arnold over at LoudMouth Photography took of our daughter.  So we loaded the photos up to Tiny Prints website and took a look at all the greeting cards they offered for this year.

When we purchased our home in spring we knew that with it being 26 years old we’d have to do some updating to it, a couple of the things we’ve already done is replaced the garage door and the sink faucets.  

Eventually I’d like to replace the window coverings too, but what’s kind of funny about that is one of the reasons we purchased our home is because it included the blinds and curtains.

We just bought a new Christmas tree this year, and we were pretty excited to put it up.  We made sure it was UL certified so that we didn’t have to worry about the power cord shorting out and the potential to cause a fire, and we bought one with LED lights so they would stay cool to the touch in case the little hands that are visiting us this year feel the need to get up close and personal with the tree (which I know they will), and won’t burn themselves on them.

With family here for the holidays I’ve been cooking a lot this past week.  So it was a great thing when I was sent a kit as part of the Country Crock Casserole Club to help me prepare a Family Fave Veggie Casserole to enjoy for Thanksgiving.
