In the 14 years we’ve lived in the U.S. we’ve spent most holidays alone. The one year my parents did come for Thanksgiving, I had a scenario that looked a little like this…
No joke.
How embarrassing is that? At least it was just my mom – but she also never fails to bring it up either.
This year we had the privilege to host my parents at Thanksgiving and my sister and her family are coming for Christmas.
As this is everyone’s first visit to our home in Texas, in anticipation of our holiday guests we changed out our old ugly sink faucets (I sure hope home décor styles from 1987 do not make a resurgence).
A big improvement don’t you think?!, and then I made sure to deep clean the guest bathroom until it sparkled.
Then when my parents arrived, I took my mom shopping at Target. I certainly didn’t want to be in the same situation as Thanksgiving 2005, so I made HER grab a 12 pack of Cottonelle TRIPLE Roll toilet paper, had her pose for a picture with it AND Instagrammed it, because I’m t.i.r.e.d of hearing the story of the Thanksgiving when we ran out of toilet paper.
And when we got home I immediately put this in the guest bath…
Later that evening my mom started calling for me from the bathroom and as I went to see what was wrong (imagining the new sink faucet leaking or the toilet being plugged up) this is what I found.
Funny Mom, real funny. But I’m happy to say they didn’t have to change the roll of toilet paper the whole time they were here! Take that Mom!
Now I’m preparing for my sister’s brood to arrive next week. I’ve replenished the toilet paper on the holder and I should be set. Thank goodness for Cottonelle Triple Roll because I don’t know if I could handle two little half nekkid boys running around asking Auntie where the TP is.
If you don’t want to worry about running out of toilet paper for your holiday guests, swing by Target to pick up a Cottonelle Triple Roll 12 pack or larger and then redeem this coupon (while supplies last) and you’ll get a FREE box of Kleenex.
Have you ever been “caught with your pants down” and no toilet paper at someone else’s home? ‘Tis the Season for laughter and mirth – share the situation with us below!
I'm thinking you will continue to hear the story again and again LOL. Thankfully I've never been in that situation at someones house.
Your mom's pictures made me smile! Cute story!
If all those "family" stories got out…what a mess we all would be.
Hahha Love your mom and the story super cute and funny!!! Glad you guys are ready for the holiday season :-)!

HAHA, my mom came out of our bathroom the other day asking where our extra rolls are. She said she had just enough to get by but didn't want the next person to suffer.
