What Are Your Feelings About Privacy?

With last year’s NSA revelations and the Target/Neiman Marcus credit card hacking incident the question of our right to privacy gets brought up again and again.  I don’t know what your feelings on privacy are, but I’ve been evaluating my own about it lately.

I know I would not be comfortable if I was selling something on Craig’s List to have them meet me at my own home.  Giving out personal information to anyone over the phone is not happening either.  And I’m very tight lipped about my comings and goings to anyone I don’t really know but who has my address.

They’re Even Targeting Your Texts Now! #HotspotShield

Having a husband who works in the IT business and is as computer savvy as they come, makes one very pro-active when it comes to internet security.  I know all about phishing scams, malware, trojans and key loggers.  I know to never click on links in e-mails, to check and make sure https is in a url when supplying any personal information and to use multiple passwords and logins for websites.

No Pirate is Going to Steal My Data…

So last month we decided to go down to Todd Mission, Texas and take in the Texas Renaissance Festival.  We loaded up in the car and headed down.  What a scene.  Imagine it!  A 55-acre permanent venue that allows you to experience a 16th century British village.

Right Now I Need to be Working, Not Babysitting My Mom on the Computer

You all know this is probably the busiest time of the year for a blogger.  It’s great that I get to work from home especially when I have company.  My parents are arriving this evening from Canada to spend some time with us over the Thankgiving holiday.

Then I realized – my mom is going to want to use a computer while they’re here.  And that’s hard for me to let her do, because no matter how many times we tell her to not click links in e-mails, she just doesn’t listen.
