When we purchased our home last spring, one of the things that appealed to me about it was this great backyard deck for entertaining.

I totally fell into the holiday party snares this past season. Between Thanksgiving Day to New Year’s Eve it was all about the fun…and the food, and of course the bad eating habits acquired during said time followed me into 2014.

In order to permanently minimize the effects and feel good again I needed to get into a new morning routine, and while it took me a few weeks to get it right, I now have it down and it’s working for me.

In the 14 years we’ve lived in the U.S. we’ve spent most holidays alone.  The one year my parents did come for Thanksgiving, I had a scenario that looked a little like this…

Between homeschooling and the fact that my husband only needs to go in to the office two days a week, we’ve been blessed in that the last number of years the cold and flu bug seems to have skipped over our home. 

But this year our daughter got a job cashiering at a grocery store.  I don’t even want to know how many germs are on all the canned goods and plastic packaging she touches during each four or six hour shift.  *Shiver*

In case you can’t tell, I like the number 3. They say good things come in threes. I often feel like I’m being pulled in three different directons (hence, my blog name!). And of course my family is the perfect size for me, just the three of us.

So when I was told about an offer beginning today at our local Safeway affiliate store, Tom Thumb, for ‘SAVE $3 when you buy ANY THREE (3) participating Hillshire Brands products’ when using the rewards card…

I love this kid.

And I can’t believe next year right about this time, I’ll be sending her off to college.  But the process is starting already really, and at 17 ½ she’s writing scholarship essays, making appointments to visit with admissions deans and taking the campus tours.

She’s never been a girly girl, and while I admit that I missed the pink bows and tutus when she was little I have not at all missed the fuss that most teenage girls make about clothing, hair and makeup.
