Gluten-Free Breakfast Quinoa with Vanilla Cream

Gluten-Free Breakfast Quinoa with Vanilla CreamWhile we don’t primarily eat gluten-free we have plenty of friends who do.  It’s usually not too much of an issue to plan snacks or desserts around them when we entertain, but meals are a whole other matter.  I had full intentions of making this breakfast for my friend when she was here last week, but time got away from us and I never did 🙁  It’s extremely tasty and well worth making even if you don’t eat gluten-free.

Walmart Best Plans Helps Our Family Stay Connected

I know I write a lot about our cell phone plans on my blog but when you’re on to something great, like lowest priced unlimited plans, you just want to tell everyone about it.

The past two weeks would have been really difficult for us without a cell phone plan.  Between my blog, picking up friends and family at the airport, and traveling around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, we used a lot of data, text and minutes.

The Nostalgia of Kool-Aid Drinks for an Outdoor Summer Celebration

NEW! Kool-Aid 96 oz Ready to Serve #shop

This whole high school graduation season of life has been so busy AND so much fun for us.  It was ALL about Amber.  She had a great time hanging out with long time and new friends, reminiscing about her school years and eating and doing all the things she liked.  Amber’s always been fond of Kool-Aid fruit drinks so when I was shopping at Walmart for her graduation open house party, I made sure to pick up the new 96 oz. bottles of Kool-Aid.

A (K)night of Celebration at Medieval Times

Medieval Times AndalusianOur daughter only asked for one thing to celebrate her High School Graduation and that was to go to Medieval Times, because there’s nothing like celebrating a coming of age milestone with a meal you get to eat with your fingers and a bit of jousting for entertainment .

ProGuideDirect Giveaway

It’s kind of funny.  Our daughter and her best friend are alike in so many ways.  This past weekend when she came to celebrate Amber’s graduation with us, the girls were thrilled to be able to go to Medieval Times and Comic Con together.  They were doing the whole fantasy/sci-fi geek out thing, and it was so fun to watch.

At the same time…they are polar opposites.  Strange but true.  Amber is a total indoor, sit at the computer, don’t make me go out in the sunshine or I’ll melt kind of girl.  Where as Megan…she’d camp out all summer long if she could.  She communes with nature.

TunnelBear App – Free VPN for Traveling

If you take a peek at the top right hand corner of my blog, you’ll read a little bit about me, and then you’ll see that I’m a World Traveler.  I’ve been to some posh places and to some down right scary ones.  My family tends to be frugal when traveling (which is why we’ve been able to go to all the places we’ve been), and so we’ll only connect online outside the United States if we can get free Wi-Fi.  The thing is, one is always leaving themselves vulnerable when using a public Wi-Fi network.

Dads Who are There #theother364 – Caring Bridge – #MC

I have the privilege to know some incredible dads.  Of course I’m a bit biased to say that my own husband is one, but this year there is another one that stands out in my mind.

Surpahs.com Digital Scale

I had the wonderful opportunity to review a Stainless Steel Digital Kitchen Scale from Surpahs.com.  Ever since I used the Weight Watchers program to lose over 30 pounds about 11 years ago, I’ve been in the habit of weighing my food to ensure a correct serving size.

I’ve been using this scale for a couple of weeks now and I love it.  It has many more functions than my previous kitchen scale did.  It’s constructed sturdily, looks sleek on my kitchen counter top (it’s just over 1/2 inch thick!), is easy to wipe down and clean and has four stable feet so it doesn’t slide around.
