The Very First TV Network-Branded Online Course

While we’re finished our homeschool journey and I had not anticipated blogging any more about it, I ended up with an interesting e-mail in my inbox earlier this month that I found too interesting not to share.

For all of you with high school aged students looking to either beef up their transcript or earn dual college credit here is an easy, inexpensive way to get three credits from an accredited institution, the very first online course from HISTORY and The University of Oklahoma: “United States, 1865 to the Present”.

Review – SeaWorld® Kids iPad Apps

imageHere are a few fun apps for SeaWorld® Kids that I think your children or grandchildren will enjoy.  With the recent release of Penguins of Madagascar Movie and the new North Wind group that appeared in it, I bet a couple of them will really resonate with those kids that have seen the movie too.

I’m Already Shopping the Post Christmas Sales!

Well I’ve finished my shopping for my family for Christmas this year.  I did cut it down pretty close to the wire with one delivery coming late last week yet, but the gifts are all wrapped and ready for tomorrow.  Yes we open our gifts Christmas Eve, it’s a German tradition that both our families grew up with and really when you’ve always opened presents Christmas Eve, who wants to wait until Christmas Day?!  Well not us anyway…but I digress.

Inevitably there will be someone who didn’t know what to get me and I’ll get some money to buy what I want, and I always try and cash in on the post Christmas sales for that.

Tres Leches Cherry Float

tres leches cherry float

Okay one more mixology recipe with the Tres Leches vinoleche that I bought.  This one is a Cherry Float far more suitable for adults than the Chocolate Cherry Float I made earlier this month.

Out of the three drinks I made with the Tres Leches liqueur, (Tres Leches Peaches & Cream and Grown Up Mocha Leches Shake), I think this one was my favorite.  Pure sweetness with just that little ‘buzz’ that gives a mixed drink that ‘oomph’ you’re looking for.

Party-Tizers Dippin’ Chips & Mrs. Thinster’s Cookie Thins

One of the companies that I connected with at the Moms Meet WOW Summit last month in Orlando was That’s How We Roll.

That’s How We Roll is a small business that started in New Jersey about 2 years go.  They have since grown leaps and bounds and now have two brands – Party-Tizers Dippin’ Chips™ and Mrs. Thinster’s Cookie Thins™.  You may have already seen their packages in most major grocery chains in the deli section.

‘Grown Up’ Mocha Leches Shake

Grown Up Mocha Leches Shake

So now that I opened the bottle of Wineheart Tres Leches Vinoleche that I had purchased for a Girls’ Night In, I have been doing some fun ‘mixology’ with it and other things I already had in my freezer, fridge or pantry.

Today’s libation uses the Wineheart Tres Leches, some Café Con Leche Ice Cream (that I used in these Quick and Easy Chocolate Chip Mocha Tarts) and chocolate rice cereal.

Sip, Savor and See | Messina Hof Grapevine is Now Open!

I’ve blogged before about how much I love the city of Grapevine here in North Texas.  If you’ve never been to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex the cities and towns that surround those two cities just sort of flow into each other.  I have the pleasure of living in a neighboring city to Grapevine so Downtown Grapevine is quite close to my home and I frequent it often.

Tres Leches Peaches & Cream Drink

I had planned to have a Girls’ Night In back before Thanksgiving, but things just didn’t work out.  It’s such a busy time of the year for everyone, between those who were traveling for the holiday, other events and sick children, I decided to postpone it for another time.  That however left me with a large bottle of Wineheart Tres Leches and a bottle of Peach Schnapps, which I was planning to make drinks with.
