Flip-flops have proven time and again to be a fad-less fashion trend that’s here to stay. It’s an incredible feet (ha ha!), to be sure!

You’ve seen that I’ve written about the importance of keeping an open dialogue and talking about underage drinking with my teenager.  In just over a week we’re going to be dropping her off at college and while I trust she’s going to make smart decisions, I can’t say the same for the rest of her peers .

When we purchased our home last year, we went into the deal knowing that this 1980’s era house would require quite a bit of updating.  The sellers had done some minimal upgrades to bring it into the 21st century, but they left us with plenty of work to do.  Like removing the trash compactor in the kitchen.

Last week I got the chance to cross off another thing on my bucket list.  Stomping grapes at a winery.

So way back in January of 2013, I created a dessert hack for Fiber One on my blog for Valentine’s Day.  With a Fiber One 90 Calorie Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownie at its centerpiece, I added some lite whipping cream and some strawberries as garnish for a tasty low calorie, high fiber dessert.

Fiber One found, that like me, people took their products and added a few ingredients to make them that much better.  They called them Dessert Hacks and they just recently launched a website called Dessertify to present them all.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you already know that I like things fast, easy and affordable. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that our family often eats at McDonald’s.

McDonald’s has been a part of our family since the very beginning…well actually even before that. See, my husband’s very first job was at McDonald’s.

The last couple of days it’s actually been a bit cooler here in the Dallas area.  And by cooler I mean 89/90.  Sunday it was hot, Hot, HOT.  Clear skies, no wind, 102 in. the. shade. 

If you need to complete your college freshman’s dorm room shopping, Bombinizz is a practical accessory that is perfect for transporting their pillow from school to home and vice versa.  It’s not surprising at all that a Mom started this home-grown business when she found a need for a storage solution for her children’s pillow on their outings.  We’ve all seen our kids juggling bags of all sizes when they’re going for a sleepover, to camp or their dorm rooms.  They try to tuck that unwieldly pillow under their arm and inevitably it ends up on the ground, covered in dirt and germs.
