Well it’s been almost a week since we dropped our daughter off at university.  It’s been a rough start for all of us.  I’ve already had to mail her money due to the irresponsibility of someone else and today we’re making a trip out to the dorms to drop off some supplies that she needs for tomorrow (that she was only told about yesterday).  We’re hoping these are our biggest worries of the semester and everything else will go like clockwork and she’ll keep her grades up.  The great thing is she is making lots of friends!

I’ve mentioned before that the previous owners of our home did a few updates to take it out of the 80s and into the 21st century, but this last year we’ve been changing quite a bit out in order to make it a bit more modern.  So far in the last year we’ve changed out all the cabinet hardware, door handles and faucets and bath fixtures to ones that have an oil rubbed bronze finish.  We were looking at replacing the light fixtures as well, but after spending so much money on all those other things, I just couldn’t bear to spend more right now.

This summer we spent a lot of time entertaining family and friends on our back deck.  The grill got a good work out which I loved because it allowed me to spend more time with our company than in the kitchen.  From Kool-Aid and Cool Whip to KRAFT Singles, KRAFT Foods helps me create meals with less hassle but still full of flavor.

We don’t seek out gluten-free products to eat in our home, but I do buy some occasionally.  Sometimes it’s just because we like the taste of the product, other times it’s because we’re entertaining guests that eat exclusively gluten-free.  In light of that I like to try new to me gluten-free products so I have a variety of ideas on what to serve when bringing snacks or treats or making meals for my friends.

A while ago I saw an advertisement in a magazine for a book release.  It was one of the books in the Debbie Macomber series Cedar Cove.  I had never heard of it before and had not read any of them, but the cover looked interesting as did the synopsis.  I decided to borrow the first book in the series from our library and liked it a lot.  When I went to borrow the second book, I had to be put on the hold list because there was a wait for it.  And then I found out the reason why…because Cedar Cove was coming to TV.
