This last week I was invited to the Dallas Lee Jeans Style Party at the NYLO in Plano, put on by Lee Jeans.  I was able to bring a guest along and so (I dragged) my husband accompanied me.  Really though, a date night out with food & drinks, the company of some of my favorite bloggers and where I could try on jeans, that’s kind of like a trifecta in my books!

As most American families these days, we’re all about getting the most bang for our buck.  But that doesn’t mean we want to sacrifice quality for price.  That’s why we’ve always enjoyed going to CiCi’s Pizza.  If you’re not familiar with CiCi’s, it’s an all you can eat pizza buffet restaurant.

Because CiCi’s listens to their guests, the feedback they were receiving from their customers inspired them to go back to the kitchen and create a better pizza expereince that is cheesier, zestier and tastier than ever before.  This past week they invited some North Texas based bloggers to be among the first to try their “Better” pizza.

There are a few things every woman should own when it comes to their basic wardrobe.  A pair of worn in blue jeans, a white t-shirt, black flats.  These are the items you’re willing to spend a bit more cash on because you know they won’t ever go out of style and you can mix and match them to infinity. When it comes to layering, camisoles are perhaps the most reliable and versatile option, they are a must-have, because they’re perfectly suited for nearly every outfit and occasion.

SYNOPSIS

23 Blast is based on the amazingly true story of Travis Freeman. A typical teenager growing up in a small town in Kentucky, Travis is a local hero on and off the field.

Being very petite reaching in and out of the oven has always been a challenge for me.  I’ve burned myself more times than I care to admit, both because of the length (or rather lack thereof) of my arms and due to not being careful enough.  Grilling is a whole other adventure with my stature!  Most oven mitts are too large for my tiny hands and because of a circulation disorder I have there are times I am unable to get a good grip on things I am holding or carrying.

Bob and Larry and the rest of the VeggieTales crew were a staple in our family during our daughter’s growing up years.  At one point we even lived between Bob and Larry (true story! We had a neighbor on one side whose name was Bob and one on the other whose name was Larry!).  We still have VeggieTales traditions in our home even though our ‘baby’ is 18.  Every Christmas we decorate our tree with the VeggieTales Christmas soundtrack accompanying our merry making.  And I still get giddy when I see cute, original VeggieTales things like this ‘CanStruction’ model that was at the Texas State Fair this week.

Our family spends a lot of time sitting at our desks.  My husband works half of his work week at home, of course with my blog I’m sitting at my desk a lot and our daughter is a full time college student and I’m hoping she’s sitting at her desk studying 🙂

Last year we invested some money into changing all the light bulbs in our home to LED ones.  It was a good chunk of change up front, but it has saved us so much on our electric bill already.

I don’t know about the rest of you moms, but I remember when Amber was little we had a cupboard full of cups.  All different brands, sizes, lids, straws.  I swear that every time I went to the store I was on the hunt for the “perfect” cup!
