Time to Redecorate the House! My Nebraska Furniture Mart Wish List

So if you remember back in January I had the chance to get a sneak peek of the new Nebraska Furniture Mart that is opening soon in North Texas.

While the store wasn’t completely done yet, I was already ticking things off my list of items I wanted to redecorate our home.

We really need a living room makeover and I’ve had my eye on some new pieces of furniture for that room.

Help Raise $50,000 to Provide Clean Water to the Thirsty

Uganda Clean WaterI live in an incredible community.  We’ve only lived in the North Texas area for 1 1/2 years but it didn’t take long for it to feel like home, and much of that had to do with the people who live in the area.  The cities and towns in the Dallas metroplex just kind of flow into each other, and we happen to live right on the border of Lewisville, TX  and Flower Mound, TX.  The people and places of Flower Mound are just as much a party of our life and community as Lewisville is. People like those that worship at  Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, in Flower Mound, TX.

Baked Zucchini Penne Recipe: Market Street and Cans Get You Cooking

Baked Zucchini PenneI keep my pantry pretty full, I think it’s the expectation that there may be a time where I just can’t get out to the store to shop.  Whether that be because of weather, illness, lack of money, or yes even the chance of a zombie apocalypse <– you know because if you watch The Walking Dead you’ll notice that it’s the CANNED FOODS that get pillaged from the cupboards.  I’m hedging my bets with the cans folks.

Boston’s Restaurant Valentine’s Day No Kid Hungry Campaign

This past Tuesday at Boston’s Restaurant I had the chance to participate in a good ol’ fashion BAKE-OFF amongst fellow Dallas area bloggers.  Boston’s head chef Lupe, showed us how to create the ultimate Heart-Shaped Pizza like a pro.  We got numerous toppings to use, and after we assembled our pizzas, they were taken back to be cooked and wham-bam, they were ready to be judged!

DFW Winter Boat Expo

Living up North for most of my life, I have to tell you there is something magical about now living in a place where in December you can drive on a bridge, over a lake and when you look out, there are boats everywhere.

While there are still some nippy days here in North Texas where winter doesn’t necessarily equate to boating season, spring arrives quickly, the temperatures soar and getting on the lake in boats is what Texans do!  (and you thought we only rode horses!)  It may come as a surprise to learn that Texas is the No. 2 boat state in the country, behind Minnesota.

Countdown to Valentine’s Day with Market Street!

After 20 years of marriage, I know that when it comes to Valentine’s Day a couple can get a little passive about it.

We’re taking a study on marriage right now in our small group, and so it encouraged me to come up with some ideas to put on a Countdown to Valentine’s Day calendar.  Nothing on it is expensive, many of the ‘hints’ I put on it are for things that are just ordinary with a loving sentiment.

It’s really easy for you to put one of these together for your spouse.  All you need is a calendar, some extra paper or wrapped paper hearts and your imagination 🙂

Nebraska Furniture Mart’s New Store in DFW Opening Spring of 2015

As part of my blog I get many great opportunities to attend local events of interest.  Last week I had the chance to experience walking through the new Nebraska Furniture Mart that is opening this Spring in The Colony, TX,  as part of a VIP Blogger event.

Being from South Dakota originally I was already familiar with Nebraska Furniture Mart.  It was a regular thing for the folks in our area to make the drive to Omaha to shop there!

The North Texas Nebraska Furniture Mart is the largest furniture store in the United States!
