Schwan’s | Delicious Food Delivered Right to Your Door!

I like to keep a well stocked freezer.  Knowing that I can make a meal on the fly is important to me.  Whether it’s because I did not do a good job meal planning for the week, I forgot to thaw meat for dinner, we decide at the last minute to have guests, or because I just don’t feel like cooking something from scratch.  Being able to shop for those frozen goods online AND have someone deliver them to my front door…well that’s just the icing on the cake.  And I do that with Schwan’s.

I’m a long time fan of Schwan’s.  Having lived not far from their headquarters when we were in South Dakota, means that the gold Schwan’s trucks were weaving in and out neighborhoods all over town.  Wait, what?!  You’ve seen them here in North Texas too, but had no idea that was a home delivery food service?!  Yes, you DFW residents want to get in on this action – and I’ll tell (and show) you why!

So this past order I got a bunch of tasty items to eat as a part of our weekly meals.

The photo at the very top of the post is the Four Cheese Penne with Prosciutto.

We also had the Creamy Marinara and Cavatappi Pasta.  FANTASTIC!  This was so delicious.  The creamy tomato vodka sauce rivals any restaurant’s.

Schwan’s pierogies bring back memories of my mother-in-law’s homemade ones.  The potato and cheese filling is just the right flavor and texture, and the 2 lb. bag is the perfect size for family dinners.

And I’m already lamenting the fact that the New York Style Kaiser Rolls are a limited time offering.  I am so needing to stock up on these before they are gone.  Thaw them from the freezer, and bake them for 5 minutes in a 400 degree oven and you have a perfect crusty roll on the outside with a chewy baked inside…your sandwiches will never be the same without them!

Schwan’s offers foods for all kinds of families.  From the LiveSmart line, their gluten free choices, special diets, single meals and more, there is something for everyone.

Delivery to your door is only $1.75 on orders of any size.  If you can’t be home at the time of delivery Your Schwan’s Representative will leave your food in a freezer bag at your front door, along with gel packs inside that keep it frozen for hours.  The bag is yours to keep and can be used on future orders by selecting the Freezer Bag option at checkout.

One of the things that people mention to me when I mention Schwan’s is the cost, and really when you break it down by price per serving, it really isn’t a huge difference from grocery store prices.  When you factor in the convenience, the quality of the food (especially the meat) you may be pleasantly surprised.

Even better you can join Schwan’s Rewards and earn points worth 5% back on every online purchase to be used on a future order!

  1. I'd get some veggies – like the Asparagus Spears! Trying to eat better and this would help and be delicious!

  2. The mac and cheese that you got looks so good! I also want to try their Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, and Beef Merlot Skillet Meal… so many awesome options.

  3. I remember Schwan's when I was a child growing up in Illinois. We would always order their push up pops and I would love it when I saw the Schwan's man pull up to the curb. I will have to check this out now that I have moved to the area. Thanks for the post!

  4. There used to be a mushroom chicken that my grandmother would get. Didn't see that in a quick scan but looks like lots of other things to try.

  5. I would get the cheesy quik taters potato rounds or the chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches or some other ice cream or dessert. It's all good!

  6. That's a great option! I would love to send that to a relative recovering from surgery. It looks so delicious, and you can't beat the convenience.

  7. I loved Schwan's growing up back home in Illinois! My parents always ordered tons of ice cream from them. No other brand tops their sundae cones for me 🙂
