TangoTab App | When You Eat Out, You Help Provide a Meal

You know with the holidays approaching quickly food is on my mind (well okay, food is always on my mind, but at this time of the year even more so!).  I’m thinking about what I’m planning to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  My birthday is coming up, and then sometimes we’re so busy I just don’t want to cook, and so on those occasions I’m thinking about where we’ll be eating out.  But there are too many people that don’t have the luxury to think of either of those things.  They are just concerned about where and how their family will get their next meal.  That is why I am pleased to partner with TangoTab for today’s post.

TangoTab is a Dallas-based company, who created an app that brings restaurants, consumers and food banks together to create a community based effort that benefits them all.

TangoTab is free to download on both iOS and Android platforms.  With a variety of search parameters you can find a local restaurant offering a select quantity deal through the app (think along the lines of Groupon or Living Social but at no cost to you).

Reserve the offer, and then when you order at the restaurant show your server the offer on your phone.  You’ll get the deal, and TangoTab will donate a meal to a local food bank.  At the time I was writing this post TangoTab has fed 579,112 people through the app offers!

The one great thing about this app is that you won’t just find obscure restaurants with it.  Local business owners of McDonald’s, Chilis, Marble Slab Creamery, Texas Land & Cattle and many more restaurants are working with TangoTab on this initiative.  I’ll be visiting Texas Land & Cattle soon to use the app and give you a first hand look how it all works!

TangoTab offers are beginning to get a foothold outside of their Texas base too, so download the app to see what’s available in your area.  They may not have expanded to your neck of the woods yet, BUT just by downloading the app and signing in, they will feed 2 people, so I’d say it’s worth checking out regardless, how about you?!

TangoTab also hosts volunteer events, and even makes them fun 😉  This past February they broke the Guinness World Record for the most people making sandwiches simultaneously.  The sandwiches and other food supplies from the event were donated to the North Texas Food Bank, Soup Mobile and Metro Relief who then distributed the sandwiches to local people in need.

TangoTab has 3 events coming up for volunteer opportunities. November 8th – Sandwich Making, November 16th – Strike Out Hunger VIP Event and November 27th – Thanksgiving Day Meal Delivery.

So if you eat out and have a smartphone, I encourage you to download TangoTab and if local eateries in your community have offers, to use them.  It’s a really easy way for you to give back doing what you’re already going to do anyway.  Simply put: When you eat, they eat.

For more information or to download the free app, please visit www.tangotab.com. Find TangoTab on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TangoTab, twitter @tangotab and on Instagram.  And don’t forget to share with your friends, you can make an even greater impact together!

  1. I'll definitely download the app! We eat out a lot, and I'd love to save some money, PLUS there giving back makes it all the more reason to do it.

  2. @HilLesha — Right now their biggest market is North Texas in the Dallas area but they do have some partners in other locations as well, in Oklahoma and California that I know of, there may be others.
