The forward thinking innovation and technology of the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 was the star of the show. Ford gave us the opportunity to check out these truck firsts:
360-degree camera
This technology provides extra visibility, using four cameras that allow the driver to see a bird’s-eye view of the truck and all four sides.
Here we’re being shown the front camera which is hidden underneath the Ford emblem. It even has a cleaning feature so it doesn’t get all gunked up with dirt and debris!
Active Park Assist
Navigating parking spaces is a breeze in the all-new F-150. This technology uses ultrasonic-based sensors to position the truck for parallel parking, calculates the steering angle and quickly steers the truck into a parking spot – completely hands-free.
You’ve got to see it in action. The first video is us viewing it from the outside of the truck.
Then we got to sit in the luxury leather interior 🙂 and view it front and center. This is a great demo video because our driver Chet from Ford explains exactly what to do and what the F-150 is doing while using the park assist.
The Ford F-150 also has adaptive technology for when you’re using your cruise control. The radars behind these panels in the front detect vehicles in front of you that are moving slower than you are and slows the F-150 down to match the speed.
These innovative technology offerings puts the F-150 in a class by itself as the smartest, toughest and most capable truck.
If you happen to be in the DFW area during the 2014 State Fair be sure to stop at the fairgrounds and check the 2015 Ford vehicles out!
Which of these technologies would you most like on your vehicle?!
I always hear so much about all the technology cars have, but I never hear anything about the trucks. It's good to know that Ford is stepping up their game. I LOVE Ford and I've owned so many of their cars, hopefully a truck is next, we'll see. Can't wait to see one of these in person!
We loved our Ford 250 when we had it. I miss it a lot. This looks like a really awesome updated truck. Thanks for this detailed review of it.
I am all about the interior. We are truck people and this one seems to have it all.
My husband wants a truck after his current car gives up. I was against it at first, but this is nice!
I think the cameras would be useful when driving a big truck.
This F150 looks like a great truck. I'd love it for my camping trips.
