Things have been absolutely crazy around here the past two weeks.  First my parents came to visit for 12 days and then just as they left we got hit with this massive ice storm in North Texas.  And do you know what you do before you’re ‘iced’ in for 4 days straight and you might lose power?  You do some holiday baking… and then eat it!  I’m so glad that when my mom was visiting she taught me how to make one of our family’s traditional German Christmas recipes “NußEcken”, which literally translated means Nut Corners.

With family here for the holidays I’ve been cooking a lot this past week.  So it was a great thing when I was sent a kit as part of the Country Crock Casserole Club to help me prepare a Family Fave Veggie Casserole to enjoy for Thanksgiving.

My family and friends are posting pictures on Facebook of snow and and cold temps, and while it’s just beginning to feel like Fall here (ha ha you all!), I know a lot of you are in the same boat (or maybe I should say the same igloo?!).
Well this is the season where our slow cookers get worked overtime, and we’ve got a delicious and easy recipe from eMeals to share with you:

My parents turned me on to olive oil years ago when my dad started using it to lower his cholesterol.  But even though I knew it was healthier for us to use rather than butter in the frying pan, sometimes the flavor of it combined with what I was making just seemed off.

Thanksgiving dinner is about the only time I can get away with serving squash at the dinner table – I love it, but the rest of my family not so much.

You’re probably noticing that I’m sharing a lot of ‘game day’ type snacks lately, that’s because it’s fall, and that’s what we do.  Watch football and eat!  And today I want to share with you a new flavor of SunChips that’s going to make your taste buds cheer! 

Not long ago one of my friends asked a question to “Texans” on Facebook.  It was just after we moved here and I preceded my answer with “well I don’t know if I’m considered a ‘Texan’ yet…”  The reply I got made me smile “If you live in Texas, you’re a Texan.”  So I’m thrilled as a ‘Texan mom blogger’ to blog about Texas’ very own Wolf Brand Chili.

I’m still coming to terms with the fact that October is almost over – seriously how did November creep up on us so fast?!  I am glad for the cooler weather though, the HOT Texas summer was a bit more intensive than I had anticipated 🙂  And with the cooler weather that means that holiday baking is already commencing in my kitchen, and I had the opportunity to make a few things (and share them!) with Werther’s Original Baking Caramels.

It’s been a long time since we’ve done any kind of Halloween Celebrations around our home, but I’m always up for creating – and so when I had the opportunity to come up with some ‘Spooky’ Halloween Recipes using 7Up, Hawaiian Punch and M&M’s, I was up for the challenge.

It’s that time of the year when apple and pumpkin flavored foods are everywhere.  It’s a season of taste that I love!  And YoCrunch has your favorite pie flavors as yogurt.  Apple Pie Parfait and Pumpkin Pie Parfait (which is new this year).
