Peanut Butter Nutella S’mores

Peanut Butter Nutella S'moresEver have one of those days where you want to be creative but also just want to stay home?  I had one of those not too long ago.  I wanted to make something a bit different for my family using stuff I already had at home.  Spying a tube of peanut butter cookie dough in the fridge I headed to the pantry to see what I could add to it.

Remembering a tip from the book Everyday Confetti about making these with bananas while camping, I ended up coming out of the pantry with a jar of Nutella and a bag of marshmallows, which ended up becoming Peanut Butter Nutella S’mores. Yum!

Cookies ‘n’ Cream Ice Cream Cake

Here’s another sneak peek at a recipe from Everyday Confetti, the book I’ll be reviewing early next week.  This is a perfect one for a family gathering because not only does it feed a crowd, it can be prepared ahead.

Slightly reminiscent of a Dairy Queen ice cream cake, the taste difference won’t matter so much when you factor in the price difference.  For the same size cake you’d pay approximately $29.00 or so at Dairy Queen.

Leftovers Pot Pie

We had so many leftovers from the holidays that I was getting desperate for new ways to fix them.  I found a wonderful Pot Pie recipe in a book I’ll be reviewing here on the blog in a few days called Everyday Confetti.

The nice thing about the recipe is that it has great bones to it.  The pie crust is about the only thing you really won’t change – but the insides you can make all your own.

Ravioli and Zucchini Cheese Bake

I don’t think life gets any crazier than in the month of December. Between every day activities and then all the holiday hustle and bustle I feel like I need a 27 hour day to fit every thing in. I don’t want to drop the proverbial ball though when it comes to dinner, but at this time of the year I’m all about quick and easy.

In my family a “perfect” recipe needs just three things: pasta, sauce and cheese. But I’m trying to find a way to sneak some healthier food in where possible and a ravioli baked dish seemed like a great opportunity for just that. The problem?

NuessEcken {German Nut Corners} A Traditional Holiday Baking Recipe

Things have been absolutely crazy around here the past two weeks.  First my parents came to visit for 12 days and then just as they left we got hit with this massive ice storm in North Texas.  And do you know what you do before you’re ‘iced’ in for 4 days straight and you might lose power?  You do some holiday baking… and then eat it!  I’m so glad that when my mom was visiting she taught me how to make one of our family’s traditional German Christmas recipes “NußEcken”, which literally translated means Nut Corners.
