For Such a Time | Book Review
I’ve always been fascinated with the events of World War II in Germany and the after years. Probably because those were the generational stories I heard around my home. My grandparents and parents had stories that sounded like a plot for a novel, which is why I probably gravitate to books like that as well.
For Such a Time by Kate Breslin, is a powerful retelling of the story of Esther during WWII: Blond and blue-eyed Jewess Hadassah Benjamin must save her people—even if she cannot save herself.
Chef Bonnell’s Seafood Cookbook Review
Spring is always my favorite time of the year to indulge in new cookbooks and recipe trials. It’s probably because of the heady scent of local fresh fruits and vegetables that start making their way into the stores about that time. So it was with great gusto that I opened up Chef Jon Bonnell‘s new cookbook Waters Fine Coastal Cuisine who owns a restaurant right down the highway from us in Ft. Worth, TX; Waters – Bonnell’s Coastal Cuisine.

Happy Wives Club Review
This April my husband and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I always joke about our marriage like one of those Mastercard commercials (do you remember them?!):
Countless dollars made, lost and spent in 8 jobs, 4 homes, 2 countries, 1 child. 20 Years with the same spouse…= Priceless.
Because when it comes right down to it. I. Am. Blessed. Beyond Measure.
SONIC & Scholastic Team Up for Reading Fun in Wacky Pack Meals – Giveaway

I don’t know about you but over the years I’ve often been swayed by our daughter to eat at a particular restaurant because of what’s included in the kids meal that particular month.
The power of persuasion and the lure of not having to cook often won me over, but really a lot of the toys had about 5 minutes of attention appeal or were lost or broken within days.
