Heather Letto, author of the new young adult fiction book entitled Impervious  (Bookfish), is offering readers a chance to download her entire book for free, one chapter each day, during the month of August.

Just by reading the synopsis on the back cover I was pretty sure this would be something I would enjoy.  It shares a  popular dystopian theme with books like The Hunger Games and Divergent, which are popular in young adult fiction.

Last week I received a media copy of The Big Book of Symptoms: A-Z Guide to Your Child’s Health, in the mail.  Where was this book 18 years ago?! I asked myself as I paged through it.

It’s a fantastic resource for every parent to have on hand.  Whether you’re wondering if you should take your child to the pediatrician for a cough or if you don’t know how to soothe an earache for your child, this book is full of advice of what you can do for your children if they are exhibiting physical symptoms and provides good indicators on when you can relax about the issue, when to make an appointment with your pediatrician or when to vist the ER or call 911.

I used to read.  All. The. Time.  And then life started getting in the way 😉  I say that jokingly, a bit… but between homeschooling, blogging and driving my un-licensed teenager everywhere she needs to go, the past few years haven’t given me as much time as I’d like for leisure reading like I used to.  Until now.

The homeschooling is done.  The teenager is on vacation from now until she moves into her dorm room in August. So now I have time for the books I WANT to read, for pleasure! 

On May 29th, Hearst Books released 7 Years Younger Instant Makeovers!

It is the latest book in the trusted anti-aging series, 7 Years Younger. The first book, 7 Years Younger, was a New York Times best seller and was backed by Dr. Oz!  The second, 7 Years Younger: The Anti-Aging Breakthrough Diet, has been a runaway hit with readers.

As our homeschooling journey is now complete, I’ve been winding down on those kind of review posts and topics.  But I couldn’t resist taking just one more on even right when Amber was graduating.  I mean how can you not be intrigued by a book written by a prominent author and astrophysicist that explains the fact that despite what our TV and DVDs tell us; Black Holes Don’t Suck, but also in a way that the average Joe (or Tammy in this case) can actually understand it?!
