I have always had a problem with growing my nails. When I was younger it was because I would bite them (okay, well perhaps not just when I was younger). I also had some issues with some acrylic nails in my 20’s, where after I had them done my nails just became brittle and would always break when they got to a certain length. That had me ripping them off when I didn’t have clippers handy. I know, I know you don’t need to tell me how bad that is! And then I found nail wraps. Oh, I was in my glory. As long as I had them on, I was not biting or ripping and my nails were starting to grow back to an acceptable length (translation: not nubby stubs).

If I’m going to be honest I think that the part of my body I take the least care of is my hair.  Over the years I’ve permed it, dyed it, highlighted it, straight ironed it, teased it, grew it (without cutting the ends) – and last year when I turned 40 I admitted to myself that it’s probably just not very healthy.

So when asked if I would do a review of the Pro Naturals Hair Repair System with samples provided, I figured I was a pretty good candidate.

When my daughter was born I had to redefine the word beauty to myself. I wasn’t a super young mom at 22, but up to that point I did define beauty as the way a woman looked. Of course that’s not the way I wanted to portray beauty to my daughter as she grew up. I wanted her to hear the word beauty and think of words like confidence, kindness, respectfulness and compassion.

But I had to believe that myself in order for her to believe it too, because young people quickly pick up on ‘say one thing, do another.’

If you’ve been a reader of my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably figured out by now that ‘easy’ and ‘simple’ are the way I roll.  I’m not big into time consuming recipes or beauty regimens, the quicker I can do something, the more frequently I’m going to do it.  That’s why although my skin is itchy and flakey (especially in winter) I’ll rarely stick to a lotion routine, because I have no patience to apply it to my body, rub it in, and wait until it’s no longer sticky or greasy before I get dressed.
