When I was asked to review and do a giveaway for Dr. Fischer’s Mineral products with the benefits of Dead Sea minerals for Mother’s Day, I immediately thought of my mom. Of course because it’s Mother’s Day, and she’s my mom, and because she loves to be treated to a day at the spa, but really it’s because my mom and dad are frequent travelers to Israel and every time they come home she raves about the Dead Sea mud and her ‘beauty treatment’ . So I knew that a set like this, that she could use at home, would be something she’d love to receive… and she’s coming for Mother’s Day so I can show it to her (this one was all mine to review!).
That’s my dad and mom on their last trip to Israel in 2012 standing by the ruins of Herodian, one of King Herod’s palaces. I was going to post a picture of her on a camel in Jericho, but I’m being kind to her for a Mother’s Day post… and I digress so I shall get back to the review .
I participated in this event on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers for Fischer Pharmaceuticals Ltd. I received Dr. Fischer products to facilitate my review.
The Dr. Fischer Dead Sea Minerals Gift Set includes four beauty products; a shower mousse, shower scrub, body butter and hand cream. The set retails for $74 but Fischer Pharmaceuticals is having a special Mother’s Day price sale of $47.95. You have to jump on it though because the sale is only until Mother’s Day (which is May 11th, 2014 in case that slipped your mind <– I’m sure your mom will be glad you remembered.)
That makes them just under $12 a piece and they are certainly worth the price tag.
Mineral Creamy Shower Mousse: Gentle Cleansing & Active Moisture, Soothes & Rejuvenates the Skin. Contains Dead Sea Minerals, Olive Oil, Cotton Oil, Almond Oil, Fig Extract, Vitamin E & A, Omega 3 & 6. Contains an Anti-Oxidants Complex for essential protection against free-radicals.
While all the items in this set are great, this one is my favorite. I love the foamy texture of it and how smooth it lathers on. The scent is absolutely wonderful and lingers for a good while without being cloying.
Mineral Shower Scrub: Three Actions in One – Cleansing, Peeling & Moisturizing. Contains Dead Sea Minerals, Jasmine Extract, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Pro-Vitamin B5. Exclusive, invigorating cleansing complex for radiant skin.
You can see the power of the scrub right there. It helps slough off the dead skin and make your arms and legs (and those of you brave enough to show off more!) summer ready. The witch hazel and tea tree does give this a bit of a medicinal smell, but the scrub is not an every day product so I can bear with that. It’s a bit thinner and more of a liquid gel consistency than other scrubs you might be used to so you can use it more sparingly than you would with a paste (I used way too much the first time I tried it!).
Mineral Body Butter: Intensive Moisture Complex for Healthy & Younger Looking Skin. Contains: Dead Sea Minerals, Vanilla, Patchouli Fragrance, Cotton Oil, Omega 3 & 6, Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Almond Oil, linseed Oil, Vitamin C & E. The Superior spa formulation helps enhance skin elasticity to create radiant, smooth and healthy looking skin.
Typically I find body butters to be heavy and due to that I don’t use them a lot. The Dr. Fischer’s Mineral Body Butter went on silky, not greasy like some others. It’s a perfect complement to apply after you’ve cleansed with the Creamy Shower Mousse.
Mineral Hand Cream: Rich spa complex for younger looking, soft smooth skin. Contains Dead Sea Minerals, Pomegranate & Fig Extracts, Glycerin, Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, A & Pro-Vitamin B5, Allantoin. Professional spa formulation for routine daily hand care at home. Protects the skin from the aging effects of dryness.
You can see in the above picture that this is a pretty thick hand cream (cream not lotion – that’s why it’s thicker). You have to take the time to rub it in but it’s worth the time because it lasts. And again with this product like the Body Butter, it’s not greasy. When I use lotion I find myself applying it several times, morning and afternoon, depending on my activities. Even after washing my hands I didn’t feel the need to reapply the Dr. Fischer’s Mineral Hand Cream. I generally have been applying it once in the morning after I get dressed and then again after dinner. It has left my hands pretty smooth too.
The man behind all this, Dr. Eli Fischer; is a scientist, a successful international industrialist, philanthropist and an international brand. And at 78 he has no plans to retire soon! In 1965 he founded Fischer Pharmaceuticals in Israel specializing in the fields of ophthalmology and dermatology. He is active in interfaith organizations for peace, provides grants for research students, and donates to numerous charities that support women and children. All Dr. Fischer products are meticulously tested for safety and efficacy and carry the seals of approval of many prestigious medical organizations worldwide.
I can’t wait to share these products with my mom and let her try them out when they come visit in May. I’ll even have the chance to take advantage of the special Mother’s Day pricing to get her a gift set if she likes the products. I know she’ll also appreciate that the Dr. Fischer Gift Sets are packed by women with special needs at Bayit Cham-The Centers for Mental Wellness. Whenever anyone buys this gift, they are supporting this special population of women. To learn more about these products you can view the Dead Sea Minerals Brochure.
