Many of you already know that my husband is a nerdy geek.  From elves to aliens with blue tentacles, my guy finds fantasy worlds and spaceships entertaining and hobby worthy.  Over the years he has wooed me to ‘the dark side’ and I partake in much of it right along side him.

With just 13 cards and some ribbon you can put a little fun around your mantle or door frame this Valentine’s Day.

Last year Family Fun magazine had a basic tutorial for making these chair-back envelopes for special deliveries leading up to Valentine’s Day.  I thought they were so cute and thought I would make one and share it with you on the blog. 

I was talking to a friend about them and she told me that Pottery Barn sold them a few years ago (shows you how long I’ve been out of the loop on things like this since my daughter is older!).  I did a Google search and sure enough these adorable yearly decorations are Pottery Barn loveliness, but also pretty costly.

I have a bunch of materials in my home that are just waiting for crafting.  Much to my husband’s chagrin I save a lot of things that I think I can recycle or re-purpose.  Time however is something I don’t have as much of as I do materials, lol! 

I had some leftover jute twine from the DIY Texas Wreath I made last month.  I was trying to figure out what to do with it when I spied some empty gravy jars under my sink.

It’s just a few weeks now until the ‘Big Game.’  I was really into football this year, but since my team suffered a loss yesterday, February 1st is going to be more about the food for me than the actual game .

I personally think Big Game parties are all about grazing.  A little of this, a little of that.  Savory. Salty. Sweet. Crunchy. Chewy.  A combination of all of the aforementioned.

You may have noticed it’s been a little quiet here on the blog this last week.  That’s because it’s been the last week we’ve had our daughter home before we have to send her back to college after Christmas break.  I wanted to soak up as much time as we could together, because as much as I appreciate being able to communicate with her thanks to our Walmart Family Mobile Lowest Priced Unlimited Plans, there is nothing like talking face to face and getting a big hug from her.

I spend a lot of my day with headphones on.  Listening to music while working by day and having them on while I game at night (yes, for those of you who don’t know I have a secret life where I play World of Warcraft for hours on end).  Problem is sometimes I forget I have them on and try and walk away from my computer and ‘YANK,’ I stumble across the floor, or rip the USB plug out or I roll my chair over the cords.  You’d think that after a time or two I’d remember, but sometimes I can be a slow learner.  I have had more pairs of headphones than I care to admit.
