It’s that time of the year when we make New Year’s Resolutions.  A wise person once told me, don’t make any resolutions you can’t keep.  So I decided to make a resolution that I would not eat Sardines this year… Ha!  No but really, now that I’m in my 40s I realize that I need to take better care of myself, especially my heart.

Americans’ love affair with their cars is well documented, along with the dollars they spend each year to keep them running.  This is particularly evident in the winter time when the harsh elements can challenge even the most conscientious car owners.  One thing’s for sure:  Keeping your vehicle in good condition will ensure a safer ride in the short term and a higher resale or trade-in value down the road.

So, before the cold weather takes hold for good, we’ve included the following tips to help you and your vehicles weather just about any storm!

JORD (pronounced Yode which is Swedish for ‘earth, soil & land’) watches don’t just tell time, they are truly works of art.  I know many people (myself included), have stopped wearing watches because of smartphones, but JORD watches aren’t only time pieces they’re fashion accessories (practical ones I might add!).

In this case, the cliché is also true in that “the accessories make the outfit” because ever since I received my JORD watch and started wearing it, people have been stopping me and asking where I got my beautiful watch.

Well I’ve finished my shopping for my family for Christmas this year.  I did cut it down pretty close to the wire with one delivery coming late last week yet, but the gifts are all wrapped and ready for tomorrow.  Yes we open our gifts Christmas Eve, it’s a German tradition that both our families grew up with and really when you’ve always opened presents Christmas Eve, who wants to wait until Christmas Day?!  Well not us anyway…but I digress.

Inevitably there will be someone who didn’t know what to get me and I’ll get some money to buy what I want, and I always try and cash in on the post Christmas sales for that.

Okay one more mixology recipe with the Tres Leches vinoleche that I bought.  This one is a Cherry Float far more suitable for adults than the Chocolate Cherry Float I made earlier this month.

Out of the three drinks I made with the Tres Leches liqueur, (Tres Leches Peaches & Cream and Grown Up Mocha Leches Shake), I think this one was my favorite.  Pure sweetness with just that little ‘buzz’ that gives a mixed drink that ‘oomph’ you’re looking for.

The newest product added to my list of favorite kitchen items is the BakeitFun Baking Mat.  I received the baking mat at no cost for purposes of this review.
