One World One Love – Michael Bolton CD Giveaway

If you were to make a short list of some of the best male vocalists, Michael Bolton would likely make the cut.  Having sold over 53 million records, the recepient of multiple Grammies, six Amerian Music Awards and countless other honors, it’s only natural that he’d make the list.

One of the marks of an excellent vocalist is performing with others of your talent but within different styles. Michael Bolton has performed with the likes of Luciano Pavarotti , has collaborated with Bob Dylan and written songs for Barbra Stresand and Cher.

Farm Rich Product Review & Giveaway

Amber and Hubby Macaroni and Cheese.  They would eat it every night if I made it for them.  Suffice it to say we eat it frequently in our home, but this mom often gets tired of it .

We recently received the opportunity to try Farm Rich’s Mozzarella Bites.  Perfect as an appetizer OR as a side to say Mac and Cheese (lol!).  What a palatable pairing to make that plain dish a little less boring!

Bound For Barcelona – Our Last Day At Sea

Our last day at sea was Earth Day, April 22nd.  It’s hard to believe that at this point our cruise was almost over.

We were quite busy on board today.

We splurged a bit and played some Bingo.  We didn’t win any cash prizes, but we did get a special “Earth Day” gift, which I’ll be giving away to one of my readers on Monday!

Anita Shreve’s novels have long been favorites of reading groups.  Her books provide lots of fodder for discussion.  Her novels are known for their sharp insight on interpersonal relationships.  Shreve traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, where she lived for three years, working as a journalist for an African magazine.   This should make A Change In Altitude very vivid as the book transports readers to the exotic panoramas of Africa.

Bound for Barcelona – Cadiz, Spain

Cadiz is a city in southwestern Spain.  It is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe and hence is steeped in rich antiquity.  Cadiz  is one of 8 provinces that comprise the autonomous community of Andalucia.

We spent our time here in two villages about 100 miles outside of Cadiz city.  The whitewashed villages of Andalucia are impressive historical monuments in themselves, and their people still live according to age-old traditions, inherited from their Iberian, Roman and Moorish forefathers.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Salutes the Armed Services Giveaway

I have such appreciation for the men and women and their families who serve our country in the armed services . On our recent flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis there was a group of military personnel making their way home from Afghanistan for a two week leave. As we were getting our baggage, it was precious to watch one family with a little girl be united and the excitement she had to see her daddy again. These are just the families that Build-A-Bear is seeking to support as they partner with the USO (United Service Organization).
