One World One Love – Michael Bolton CD Giveaway

If you were to make a short list of some of the best male vocalists, Michael Bolton would likely make the cut.  Having sold over 53 million records, the recepient of multiple Grammies, six Amerian Music Awards and countless other honors, it’s only natural that he’d make the list.

One of the marks of an excellent vocalist is performing with others of your talent but within different styles. Michael Bolton has performed with the likes of Luciano Pavarotti , has collaborated with Bob Dylan and written songs for Barbra Stresand and Cher.

Another skill of excellent singers and songwriters is producing new material, but still being able to contain the hallmark of what makes that singer unique.  Michael Bolton’s new CD One World One Love does just that.  This CD contains a play list of songs that make one feel good, the mantra for Bolton and his team was ‘no heartbreak songs’.

One World One Love was released on May 4th, and just like he has worked with other artists in the past, this time Bolton has joined up Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo.  Michael Bolton will also embark on a 6-month World Tour with stops across the US and Europe through September 2010.

I’ve been a fan of Michael Bolton since I was in Jr. High when Dock of the Bay came out, and my favorite song of his undoubtably is Go The Distance.  But over the years I’ve lost touched with a lot of popular music as I was listening to pre-school and childrens’ songs while Amber was growing up.  Now that she’s a teenager, I’m enjoying “grown up” music once again, and was interested in knowing whether I would still find the crooning of Bolton as likeable as I once had. 

Well he certainly hasn’t lost his ability to sing over the years, and I was impressed with his vocals on this CD.  While I am always somewhat taken surprised by certain lyrics in a track,  being as conservative as I am, those songs are usually the exception and for the most part I really enjoyed the songs.
