So the last time I had to mail a package to my family in Canada I nearly choked on the cost of shipping. Perhaps you feel the same way if you have to ship packages across the country or internationally. Here are a few tips I picked up that might help lower the costs of shipping for you.

Just in case you thought I was all done with the cattle…I’m here to prove you wrong…LOL!  After I arrived home from my trip On the Ranch, I was going to take a tour of a local dairy farm with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, for National Dairy Month in June.  Unfortunately it had to be postponed so we didn’t get to go until July, but even though we were a month late, I’m so glad we went, it was very neat to see.

Phineas and Ferb is one of the funniest television shows that airs on the Disney Channel. What I love most about it is that is a show that kids of all ages adore. My 1 1/2 and 4 year old nephews are completely entertained by it, and when we were visiting in April at my sister’s home, the younger one snuggled right up to my 15 year old, and they all sat and watched it together! They all think Phineas and Ferb is super.

If you are a newcomer to my blog, you may not know but I am very tiny. 4’9” tiny and I have a petite frame too. I generally shop in the girl’s department but that makes it difficult to find appropriate clothing for an almost 40 year old!

Hunter Talen has written the Xander Nash Christian adventure book series in such a way that the children reading it will become involved in the story.  They are filled with laughter, drama and excitement, are just the right length and have accompanying illustrations to break up the text as well.  The illustrations are very neat, a mix of cartoons and real to life drawing that makes Xander seem a bit out of his element…as he is!

I took a couple of the new Zing Toys out to my friend’s 4th of July party for the kids to play with.  5 kids between the ages of 5 and 15 had a lot of fun with them.  The older girls loved shooting off the Z-Curve Bow and making the younger ones collect the arrows – and the Zing-Shot launcher was a huge hit with the dog!

I love e-mail. Since all of my family lives in Canada it’s the best way to communicate with them. Between sending birthday e-cards or getting the latest pictures of my adorable nephews I can keep up with what’s going on with my family that is 500 miles away.
