Thank you to Yahoo! Mail for sponsoring this post about staying connected. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.
I love e-mail. Since all of my family lives in Canada it’s the best way to communicate with them. Between sending birthday e-cards or getting the latest pictures of my adorable nephews I can keep up with what’s going on with my family that is 500 miles away.
My mom is the queen of e-cards! She finds one for every occasion imaginable and sends them to us. It always brings a smile to my face when I see an e-mail from her in my inbox, because after all, who doesn’t want to hear why you’re loved?
E-mail is a wonderful tool for my daughter to keep in touch with my family too. Christmas and Birthday wish lists are shared via e-mail and she shares some private jokes with her cousins as well.
One of the best e-mails I ever received was from my mom when she sent me a recipe for a cookie that my mother-in-law who had passed away used to make. It was my daughter’s favorite cookie to eat at Christmas and because my mom sent it to me, and it landed in my Yahoo! Mail inbox, I was able to make that first Christmas that Grandma was gone for my daughter a little easier since she could still enjoy Grandma’s honey cookies.
Yahoo! Mail is a great free e-mail provider. The first e-mail account I ever had was a Yahoo! mail one. I can change the skin on it to give it a different look whenever I feel like “redecorating” and it’s just right for me. I thought it would be easiest to have an e-mail that I could access from anywhere easily. One of the reasons I like it, is because I can keep everything in separate folders and filter it all as it comes in the inbox. I never felt the need to replace it with any other e-mail and still use it for my family e-mail correspondence.
How important is e-mail to you? What do you use it most for?
I love email. It is a quick way to keep in touch. And if I don't want to talk to someone, I can ignore them for awhile.
