Just because of great sales at the store, coupons and the food samples I often get for my blog, we tend to have a good stock of shelf stable food in our home.  I try and keep a 24 case of water bottles on hand too.  We have lots of blankets, flashlights and batteries, but beyond that we haven’t made a ‘real’ emergency kit in case we lose power and/or heat.

One of the ports we stopped at in Alaska on our Disney Cruise was Skagway.  We took an excursion where we boarded a bus and drove up to Carcross, Yukon in Canada, and then took the White Pass Rail back down to Skagway.

Before we even left town, we got to see this neat contraption.

So this is the marvelous dessert we got treated to on the evening of our arrival for the BlogEats Conference put on by Kraft Foods.

I don’t know if you all check the items in my sidebar out, but you’ll notice a group of badges toward the lower part and right at the top of the group is one that says “kraft foods, delicious byte, official blogger”.  And as a part of that auspicious group, last week I was invited to the Kraft Kitchens Innovation Center for their annual BlogEats Conference.

On October 25, 2011, Winnie the Pooh was released on Blu-ray and DVD!  We got to watch this DVD and I’ll tell you a bit about it below.

We have high academic aspirations for our daughter and theoretically we hope she’ll get a really good scholarship and be able to help her out with the additional costs; but realistically we have to assume that student loans may be on our horizon.
