Peachy-Keen Smoothies
It’s that time of the year. We aren’t ready for summer to end, but we’re heading into autumn. This is a great smoothie recipe that I got from a Family Fun magazine that combines the sweetness of summer peaches with the warm flavors of fall. The best of both!

Green Tea Mango Energy Smoothie
Mangoes were on sale at the store last week for 48¢, and I had just gotten a package delivered with some Lung Ching Dragonwell green tea from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf thanks to a Klout perk. Chicken Salad with Apples & Radishes
Amber asked for Chicken Salad the other day for lunch. “But not just boring chicken salad Mom, make it interesting.” So I did some searches and found a recipe to adapt from on WomansDay.com. It seems lighter than a traditional chicken salad due to the sour cream I think, and if you’re like some of my readers who think mayo is of the devil, I would think you could substitue the small amount of that with more sour cream also.
Happy Family: Stories From the Brightside
Food is a major part of every family’s daily routine and our attitudes toward it shape our kids from a very young age. It seemed appropriate that just as I was asked to do a sponsored post from Happy Family about personal humorous experiences around food and kids that I happened to be looking through pictures from our past cruises.
If food is a major part of the every day, it’s a HUGE part of cruising, at least for our family .
Honey Nut O Bites
We’re having guests for dinner on Sunday evening and so I decided I should start making some treats today for dessert. I figured we’d just have some cookies or bars and ice cream to round out dinner.
I’ve been craving something sweet the past few days, so I went into the pantry to see what I could make for Sunday evening and maybe indulge my sweet tooth at the same time. I walked out with a jar of peanut butter half a bottle of honey, sprinkles, some powdered sugar and the container of Cheerios.
Graduation Announcements
Graduation here in the United States seems so different from what I’m used to back in Canada. Now granted I haven’t been to a graduation in Canada… well since I graduated from high school, and that goes back over 20 years ago! But when we received our first “Graduation Open House” invitation after we moved to South Dakota we saw what a ‘big deal’ high school graduation is here.
