The holidays are quickly approaching (as you can see, I’ve changed my blog header this month to reflect that!) and that means lots of shopping! Not long ago one of my friends asked a question to “Texans” on Facebook.  It was just after we moved here and I preceded my answer with “well I don’t know if I’m considered a ‘Texan’ yet…”  The reply I got made me smile “If you live in Texas, you’re a Texan.”  So I’m thrilled as a ‘Texan mom blogger’ to blog about Texas’ very own Wolf Brand Chili.

I’m still coming to terms with the fact that October is almost over – seriously how did November creep up on us so fast?!  I am glad for the cooler weather though, the HOT Texas summer was a bit more intensive than I had anticipated 🙂  And with the cooler weather that means that holiday baking is already commencing in my kitchen, and I had the opportunity to make a few things (and share them!) with Werther’s Original Baking Caramels.

This last year has been a real growing time between my daughter and I.  She’s always been a Daddy’s Girl, and has never interested herself in things that most little girls did.  No princessess, no tutus, no coming home from middle school goo-goo eyed over some boy (well not that I’m complaining about that last one mind you..).  The point is she’s now at the place where some of the things that girls start caring about at much younger ages she’s now just starting to notice.  Like, if her skin is clear, how her hair looks, does she sweat too much?

Being a blogger and tied to my computer for most of the day, I do a lot of sitting.  Not just for that, but of course in the car, in front of the TV, at the kitchen table….sit.sit.sit.  And there’s nothing worse than having to sit in an uncomfortable chair.  Am I right?

Sometimes chairs that look really comfortable, aren’t at all!  And other times those really fancy looking chairs that look like they’d be torture to sit in, well they’re actually quite comfy!  Funny how that is.

Have you heard that a movie adaptation of THE BOOK THIEF (Twentieth Century Fox ) is being released in select theaters November 8?  It stars Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and Sophie Nélisse.

One of the best things of moving is having new places to explore and new things to see and do.  So I was delighted the other day when I was invited to Mama Fu’s Asian House for freshly prepared Asian cuisine on the opening day of their first restaurant in the North Dallas area in Frisco, TX.  This is the first of fourteen Mama Fu‘s locations slated to open in Dallas and Collin counties over the coming years, and after tasting the fare, I’m hoping that one opens up closer to my home!
