Vanilla Apple Pudding with Gourmet Vanilla Whipped Cream

– A simple, comfort dessert that’s perfect for the fall and winter –

All vanillas are not created equally.  And until just recently I had no idea that vanilla came in a form other than a liquid.  For those of us that enjoy baking, but are not in the class of ‘pasty chef’, vanilla paste might be a new ingredient.  I received some to use from Nielsen-Massey.

Tropical Traditions Whole Wheat Flour Giveaway

We used to eat white bread all the time in our home.  With more attention being given to whole grains in the marketplace though, and reading many articles about it, I knew that we needed to started replacing our white bread with whole wheat bread.  I made the switch gradually, starting with whole grain white, and shifting over to whole wheat after a few months, now we eat whole wheat bread almost exclusively.

I recently procured a bread machine, and the first loaf of bread I made it in it was a Whole Wheat Honey Bread made from Tropical Traditions Organic Stone-Ground Whole Wheat Flour.

Tropical Traditions Organic Palm Shortening (Giveaway)

I love working with Tropical Traditions.  My family has had the chance to experience so many green and healthy products all of which we have been pleased with.  This time I was able to try their Organic Palm Shortening.  With Christmas baking just around the corner, this is a product that is sure to be used a lot in my kitchen.  I usually try and avoid recipes that have shortening in the ingredient list, but no more!  So, once again I was busy baking up a storm using the great Tropical Traditions products that I have on hand and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of them.

Palm shortening is derived from palm oil. In its natural state, palm oil is a mixture of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, with most of the unsaturated fat being monounsaturated fat. Palm shortening is
